Got my VIN for the 2023 YP order last week, it has an F for the 8th character, which apparnetly is “F = Dual Motor – Performance – standard winding (designated for Model Y)”. I thought all the new stuff was getting hairpin winding? You guys talk of 4D1 rear drive unit being indeed hairpin, but...

When they bring her back to $100/share, then yeah we can say that (and that there still lurks some sanity). :)

Let's suppose you've owned that car for 5 years and Tesla's been charging you $150/month as NIO does in China. That's $9000. I think you can give Tesla less than that to get your battery situation taken care of? Maybe only part of it is problematic?

Had this chat last week with a close friend. We deduced that it's the wrong question to ask; the better one is: How much MONTHLY INCOME do you need? That's a much better measuring stick and useful planning tool for figuring out "no more such this as a weekend" :)
