Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I don't trust management. Too much risk. It's probably not the best move but I can't invest in something I don't believe in. Chinese companies are risky enough as it is. I'll reinvest it in another solar company I have more faith in.
I have some SCTY but I'm wondering if I should get some more or remove some of the longer term hedges.... GE's has indicated a SHORT TERM price target of 100$.....this thing is going to fly....do you guys agree? Anyone buying options now or is it already too late (considering volatility and all)?

edit: if things go perfect for SOL it has potential to have greatest return in 2014 (starting from a low base), but I really don't care. I can get the same odds at a casino.

I do agree, and I did sell everything after ER and promised never to buy them again. I have lost ALOT of money on SOL in total.
However SOL has said they are changing their strategy and would start posting good news soon, if this is the start it might be fun to have some speculate calls.
The article that came out over the weekend that the Chinese government wants to see "healthy development of Solar" is adding to today's rally for the Chinese solars.
Bottom line, China has a massive pollution problem is finally being dealt with by its government very firmly and I am betting they will support (cheap loans, incentives) and even in cases may bail out some big players if need be till the issues with pollution is fixed. They are AGGRESSIVE!! ;-) I now hold 75% Solar.
Yes, I've read it. There is more news coming out today for CSIQ signing new contracts and Yingli saying they will reach profitability in 2nd quarter 2014 and they also formed a new joint venture. Fuel for a continued rally in the sector. It seems these announcements are becoming almost daily.
I have been watching the stock for 6 months, but that is about it. I will read their next ER report and see what head way they are making to keep up with SCTY. Last i read into them, they were still struggling to get going again.
So MU posts earnings today with earnings season getting started...
CSIQ has a conference for institutional investors on Jan 15th. I'll be listening/reading that with wide open ears and eyes. Solar has to deliver on the earnings front now for Q4, Q1, and Q2 for the Chinese solars to triple this year. Their PEs are on the rise fast (although still cheap) since beginning of this year. Sales appear to be good and can be counted from each deal they announce.
