Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Well, after a few weeks of tripping on it, I had to do it! Placed an order for a cybertrk highest kwh and fsw. No brainer as far as cheap option goes lol. Really psyched into this thing tho... be interesting what this evolves into... what's the best thread for cybrtrk nutcases?

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Yep... I keep telling myself, it’s perfectly normal for two proficient, profitable and talented traders to have contradictory opinions on the same stock, and both be “right”. One reason is time frame (stock movement / time). Another is risk management. Also overall strategy and expectations.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I laughed at the amount of “reporting slip-ups” I heard on Bloomberg radio this evening while driving home. This is in 15 minutes of listening. One choice bit was an announcer stating something to the effect of: “due to demand fueled by panic buying prior to EV tax incentive expiration, Tesla...

IMHO twitter is, like most things, what you make of it.... on average yes it’s a cesspool of all sorts of things a lot of them turbid and nasty... there are some hangouts that reward honesty, openness and clever thinking, but those take some effort to sort out and become part of... I’m not...

He was kinda trending away from authoring tsla related twits, only re-tweeting them, and sticking to spacex stuff and the usual “other” EM stuff... I thought that’s a great plan... The suddenly “I deleted my twitter account” is a bit of a surprise.... an old buddy of mine says “a tiger never...

I could not resist instantly replying to that on twitter.... basically said I don’t believe it, EM will always be here... then retweeted with a “is it bullish for the stock? Will people miss EM tweets? Is it a joke?”... reality is none of us know.... but it’s part of the fun of this wild ride...

Interesting that Cramer drew the channel with parallel lines.... me and the traders I follow on twitter all drew it as a downwards wedge which is more bullish.... Then again Cramer saying anything bullish re tsla is extra bullish on its own lol.

Thank you for so elequently reiterating something I have been telling my friends, twitter buddies and even the shorts on twitter.... I hope the shorts realize we are close to the tip of a rather large down wedge. And we’re close to long term support. This down wedge is not as big as the one marked by the “Spiegel Double Bottom” @ 180 (and we all know how that ended) but it’s the biggest one since. Wedge pattern - Wikipedia...

TSLA Market Action: 2018 Investor Roundtable

My only complaint is the options premiums are so high these days... I did pick up some December 260 calls this morning around $33.5 and am rather happy to have gotten that opportunity.

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

I am terrible at the short term game and Tsla is very unpredictable at the moment. However, I get tempted by certain situations (in this case, cheap 315 calls on Wed and today) and can't resist sometimes. I just got lucky twice in a row. Pure dumb luck. Now back to long term!

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

And then I started buying back in, so I may still end in the red... The best play would have been to buy the dip after open. However, told myself that I would not increase exposure as I already had plenty of that.

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

I sold the 315 calls averaging a hair under $1. Not worth the risk.... short term is a tough game! We get positive semi pricing news, positive Australia news and good macros and SP hardly does anything. Oh well, could be worse.

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

Pretty silly, but I'm in exactly the same boat. 315 calls, and the same amount. Only reason I did it is they were cheap towards the end of Wed. Are you planning on selling at open or riding it out for a few hours? Will be a short trading session....

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

I had quite a bit of exposure accumulated from the 335/331 production delivery dip and yesterday, and to be honest the MS upgrade came as a nice surprise... I fully expected to take a loss on the small weekly position I picked up on Monday. Still wondering if @MitchJi will see his 310 dip or...

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

Ok, second stab at 350.... let's see if we break though this time. Shorts may just give up and cover, or they may play the capping game all afternoon. Seems like the 350.xx is their first line of defense, then the 356.xx

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

We had a soft (it didn't bounce back from it immediately) rejection of the important 350.xx level.... feel like we're on attempt #2 at cracking that barrier. If we push though that this afternoon, shorts from yesterday got it handed to them. Also Nasdaq has leveled off, makes for a perfect day...

    TSLA Technical Analysis

Looking at this considering possibilities for Monday and next week... today's candle looks nice and solid, almost no upper wick. TSLA Technical Analysis

If you're working with daily candles, trying to predict daily resistance and support levels... start with prior day's high, low and close (I don't include after hours) and do this math: Pivot point (PP) = (High + Low + Close) / 3 First resistance (R1) = (2 x PP) – Low First support (S1) = (2 x...

Add me to the list. Lost a lot of my gains from the 180 bottom trying to be clever. Learned a lot in the process. Should have listened to @MitchJi, @aimc, @zhelkodimic re the dangers of extreme exposure though options. I don't regret the lesson one bit. It was a lesson that we all learn if we...

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

A thing to look at is delta vs purchase price.... that is what determines leverage. A Far Out Of The Money (FOTM) op has low delta, but because it is cheap to buy, it has a higher delta/price ratio than an NTM or ITM call, and provides more leverage. The problem is, theta, time decay. If...

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

This will take a lot of writing to explain.... feel free to PM me for details. I have visited both Tsla and Lucid on numerous occasions and lucid strikes me as less than 1:1000 of what Tsla is in terms of financial, intellectual, real estate, and seat-of-the-pants feel. Just not much there...

    TSLA Technical Analysis

The gap fill and R2 happen to coincide today. I was afraid of a pullback off R2 earlier in the day, and was ready to sell the (rather large) trading position at that point. Today was a confirmation of the bounce that was predicted by the reversal pattern set up from the previous 3 days. Interesting to note, we closed at 327.18, which is exactly R2 as calculated from the previous day (not including pre- and after- market). As we all know, technicals work very well...

I consider TA analogous to ants around an ant hill... there's ants everywhere and they individually move in almost random directions. But there are also definite patterns that form dark lines. Also, those preferred paths shift in their own random fashion, slowly over time.

I have personally visited Lucid a few times. I was not impressed. I don't consider them worthy of a buyout by the likes of aapl. On the other hand, aapl making a play on tsla is one of those rumors that has been around for so long one gets numb to it. There is an infinitesimally small chance of...

    TSLA Technical Analysis

Looks like a hammer today. I'm thinking we are continuing to form a bottom. Also, we are back within the Bollanger Band. Fri and today's candles look like the shorts are making a huge effort to prevent a bounce, but are not quite successful. Edit: Good point... the chart was skewed because I...

Capping is when shorts do their thing (sell stock short) at a specific price point. Its usually a technically important level. The low end of the Bollinger Band at 312 is what we're seeing currently. Another popular "capping" price level is whatever it takes to close in the red for the day on...
