Silence is golden and there is no way my 3 is going to make a noise for dumb people looking at their phones. The great thing living in New Zealand I cannot be sued for running a dumb ass over or hurting any person no matter what I do. So no jobs for lawyers in New Zealand.

I almost hate to ask, as it tends to spur controversy.

Tesla recently added a pedestrian warning sound to all new production. This makes a noise to warn pedestrians of an approaching vehicle that otherwise would be silent.

The downside - no more whisper quiet when stopped.

It's apparently easy to disable it on the Model 3 (there are videos), as it is on other EVs (the Bolt required removing a single fuse).

What will you do when you get your Model 3?

It's a legal mandate in some jurisdictions .. so it will be on all models at some point (and non-Tesla EVs also).

Not so much. I'm a nerd (and proudly so), so I'd want sounds like the USS Enterprise accelerating, the Millennium Falcon flying, the Tron motorcycles, stuff like that.

Me too. The sound of the Enterprise going to Warp would be awesome.
And quite a good idea for the next level after Plaid Speed too.

I've only heard this in videos, but I wouldn't mind if the sounds could be changed to be like the Taycan. As is though, the pedestrian warning sound is definitely getting removed upon day of arrival
