This about standardization, not necessarily completely opening the supercharger network. In the end, standardization will be a good thing.

The supercharger network is a private network owned by Tesla. As I understand it, some bays of some superchargers will be public based on Tesla’s use of federal subsidies but for the time being most will not be.

We don't know if all V3+ will be available or not.

The Ford announcement said "more than 12,000". There were a little over 12,000 open V3 stalls at the time of the Ford agreement so it might just be that that's the number thrown around, rather than it being based on an existing open date.

Yup, Rivian is also using that exact number in their advertising

lol....all he cares about is money....i think our next car won't be a tesla anymore because when we buy again the majority of ev will be able to use the SC network anyhow.....so no point in spending more for the special tesla.
Depends - Tesla still has one of the best drive trains, IMO. It also depends whether/how the charging is integrated into the nav system. In the end, you will likely have more choice, though, which is a good thing for all of us.

Another potential benefit to Tesla drivers would be Tesla using the increased revenues to expand its supercharger network. That’s still a big ‘if,’ though.
