Why anyone needs a car that does 155 mph or a roof rack good for 140 mph

There are many parts of the PA Turnpike that would be perfectly safe at 100 MPH if that were the legal limit. Obviously not around Philadelphia or Pittsburgh.
The issue with raising the speed past 70 is there is a LOT of big rig traffic and many of them can't even maintain 70 up the hills.
Also, cruising at 100 in a Tesla almost guarantees you'll have to stop at every Supercharger, it really gobbles electrons compared to cruising at 70 or 75.
