    Elon Musk

Twitter fascination and purchase embodies all that is immature and stupid about Elon. Crossed the fine line from genius to insanity and smashed our investments with him. Thev wholev world and financial markets disrespect this move. No wonder the board of Tritter was unanimous. How would a poll...

    Elon Musk

So we understand the Company forum was closed because it got out of control with hate messages etc. What will be different about Twitter with free rein? Only more hate and more ugliness from some anonymous guys on the web. Elon, have you lost it?

How did you convince your significant other to order a Tesla?

She did the test drive, and bought it for the sound system quality.

Used Model S (2016-2017) or new Model 3?

Mine, made in China 30 April 21. Quality is excellent everywhere, but range is appalling The Long Range we bought was good for 673 or 657? km. Tesla changed this to 580 the week after we bought it, also reduced the price by 10k. 100% charge shows 540 km on the screen, but in reality is 450 ish...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

But at 100 miles it is flat. So, maybe leaving a bit in the tank, perhaps it isn't really going anyplace.

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Bolt EV offers an EPA-estimated 259 miles of range,† on a full charge, owners are advised to keep the car outside and avoid overnight charging. Also, users should only charge the car to 90 percent full and keep the battery above 70 miles of remaining range. That gives 137 miles. Lets say real...

    Auto-Pilot - I give up, it's downright lethal

Sure I knew about it, have read about it, but when it happens in real life, it is a surprise. It is not good enough.

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

I have a new, MIC M3. Long Range. I bought it having 673 km of range. The next week this was changed to a different test cycle, so I have 580 km. Take off 20% from the top only charging to 80%, take off 20% at the bottom, we have 60% of 580 km = 348. OK, we can charge prior to a trip to 100% and...

    Auto-Pilot - I give up, it's downright lethal

2021.4.18.2 also. RHD in Australia and brand new. Pretty scary for our first time driver of a Tesla. For myself I have been in the forums six years, but the AP braking is totally a surprise. And a killer. A Tesla Killer. Maybe an Easter Egg from some departing technowizz :)

Getting "older" parts for 2018 - 2020 Model 3s in the future?

This is why the VIN is used in Spare Parts shops: they can immediately identify the iteration of your car and its components.

+How to cope with no tuition due to 3rd party delivery

If it were not for the fact that I have been on the forums for 6 years, I/we would not be coping. Then again, we would not have been buying a Tesla.

+How to cope with no tuition due to 3rd party delivery

We are struggling with learning all the facets of operating our new M3, there being no local assistance as we are out of state (Tas) and do not know anyone else. The car was delivered by a third party carrier, who "knows nussink". What I tend to do is spend countless hours watching Youtubes...

Tasmania to get EV stamp duty waiver

Those of you, Tasmanians, with a Disabled Parking Permit sticker, did you know you are exempt stamp duty when buying any car? For Model 3 it is around $3000.

Finally - national data on the number of BEVs and Teslas!

@paulp: I think we used to interact there. Supposed to be going to Adelaide but overly cautious about lockdowns: we got locked down in Melbourne (straight after buying the M30 then had to isolate in Tas for a further two weeks, so one week to go. We could collect the 3 in Melb and drive to Adel...

Finally - national data on the number of BEVs and Teslas!

Yes to all that, but it was intoxicating, personal if you could get in socially. On here I have always seen it as too...I don't know, impersonal. Anyway we looked at M3 in Melbourne, to my shock wife said I want one, just for the sound quality. So it comes 24 June, inventory unit, white seats...

Tasmania to get EV stamp duty waiver

I have it in writing from the leader of the Tas government that this legislation...not drawn up yet... is scheduled for the 2nd half of this year. Also a public policy statement: Provide a two-year stamp duty waiver for all new and second-hand Electric Vehicles Tasmania is ideally suited to...

1500 Model 3 arrived in Sydney from China this week. Mine was built on Apr 30, so I guess it is one of them. Tasmania, just south of Australia.

    Supercharger - Devonport, Tas

It is the fastest charger in Australia. V3 . And that is a good thing because you wouldn't want to miss the boat! I travel frequently, just arrived this morning again. I don't see the SC being so useful for Spirit travellers but Devonport needs one, and why not at the ferry? Perhaps TT-Line made...

Why anyone needs a car that does 155 mph or a roof rack good for 140 mph

It is many magnitudes harder to drive at 155 than 100. I used to spend hours at 100. 125? enough , I have never been over that.

Today we were closed down by Tesla. It doesn't matter why now, it is history, and anyway we do not know why, we can only guess. Many of the participants will move to here, some with the same screen names, others will create new identities. Mine is the same.

A Sydneysider thinking of a holiday in Tasmania

I had guests use my Destination Charger. They must have thought it was paid for by Tesla as they left without paying. You know who you are.

A Sydneysider thinking of a holiday in Tasmania

On the ferry, remember which deck you parked your car, or 1: you won't find it 2: you will be called on the loud speaker to remove it, 3: And you still can't find it. Nowadays they have a little tear off card for you to take to identify your car position, in the lift well.

I was thinking how funny that guy was. Found out it was [ me :) ] Surprising how much you can forget. Interesting to revisit these posts. That other Tesla forum, I will miss it for 24 hours I guess.

Why anyone needs a car that does 155 mph or a roof rack good for 140 mph

This was an older thread. I spent my time mostly on the Tesla owned forums which have been cut (possibly due to too much infighting). So I might spend time here. I have orders in for a Cybertruck and a MSPlaid +...although if the market doesn't sustain the appropriate gains I may cancel one. At...

Sorry about this but my Destination Charger is no longer available. It was an AirBnb which is now sold on as a private home. It may appear still on maps. On The Beach Cottage at Heybridge near Burnie.

Getting "older" parts for 2018 - 2020 Model 3s in the future?

    Tesla Cybertruck in Australia

Wait 4 years? In the meantime I expect a rash of local manufacturers could easily beat CT to market with lookalike product. I expect to be spoiled for choice with unpainted personnel carriers. In fact I would expect that term to become quite widely used, like "people mover' usage

Model 3 Design is Out - Slightly smaller than expected

This is where you hook on the solar charger or generator. You can get a 120 watt solar charger here for @200 ish AUD. Would that charge it? A bit less range towing the trailer of course.
