I think they will stop the Sig Red paint, and do a second run for their RHD vehicles and other Euro/Asian exports in the middle of next year.

Right, let's defer European production to the middle of next year... Let's first do all regular production cars for the US, even for people who walk into a Tesla store today, and then produce cars for people in Europe who have been waiting for two years already! How's that compared to getting a car in december instead of november...

When we placed our orders we were told we could expect delivery, not production, early next year. Sorry we are in the way of the Sunset-color. But then, who cares about us 'socialists' anyway...

Turns off cynical mode (you probably didn't mean to be so harsh on us)

P5836 locked in. Waiting on mpva - blue/grey perf with glass roof, tech, sound. Estimated delivery Jan-Feb 2013. Have not done a test drive nor seen it in person, but I think I've gathered enough info from both forums to feel comfortable with the purchase.

I happen do care very much for you socialists Lol

just spoke with reservations specialist who suggests sunset red would not be available until March at the earliest and there is no suggestions that they will postpone European signature production for st all.

P6286 in Colorado. Just got the "It's Time to Build Your Model S" email. I called the Park Meadows store for another test drive this Friday. All set to drive their lone car, which is a Performance model. I am torn between the Performance and 60 kW battery. I want Performance, and my wife wants 60 kW. Big $$ difference here of $15-16k. So maybe if she really really likes the Performance, then I can configure the car then.

Thanks - I just looked at my Deign Studio and the difference is more like $21k with the options I have in the 60kW option. I citing a 15-16k difference from a different option I have since removed from consideration. Yikes - thanks for the reality check.

The obvious compromise is to get a non-performance 85kWh -- which is what I'm getting. The 85kWh gives you free supercharging and faster 0-60 times (and, more importantly, this improvement is going to be concentrated in the 30-60 mph range, which is where it will get the most use in my driving). Living out west, as you do @Velo1, the additional range will be a boon.

I got the email today, too. P6300 ish. I'm a bit conflicted though. While I only need the 40 kWh for all of my daily driving, I was all set to upgrade to the 60 kWh, believing that Supercharging hardware and software were included (which is what the configurator was showing up until just recently). Pretty excited about that actually, feeling that the extra $10k over the 40 kWh was a good deal.

Alas, I feel less excited now. Not feeling it's worth an extra $2k. Funny thing how value and expectations can intertwine. So I may just stick with the 40 kWh. Decisions, decisions...

Despite of my earlier ranting, I do sincerely hope you will get your Sunset as soon as possible!

I just received my build email and finalized my order for P6233. Estimated delivery in Jan or Feb. However, I’m guessing it will most likely be Feb or March.

• Model S Performance
• Pacific Blue with tan interior and carbon fiber accents
• Pano roof
• 21” performance grey wheels
• Tech and sound packages

It’s going to be a long couple months!

I am in the same boat and $2k more kinda sucks but being able use the superchargers free for the life of the car (owner transferrable), for me, favors the 60 kWh + Supercharger even more over the 40 kWh just for the resale value alone.

Probably going to finalize today with: 60 kWh, silver with body color roof, gray leather, matte obeche, tech package, sound package, air suspension, super charger access and parcel shelf. Going aftermarket for paint armor.

So excited!

You assured us earlier on the thread that you'll configure in the same hour upon receiving the finalize email, John ;)
