Hydroplaning

Two questions; if you remove your foot from the accelerator pedal while hydroplaning will the regenerative braking engage? And if so does that change the drgree/duration of hydroplaning?

Traction control will kick in. If you start to slip sideways, vehicle stability control will also engage.

Interesting, thanks, but makes me wonder why all my pilot training in IFR and rainy conditions mentioned tire pressure as a principal factor? Wheels starting from zero speed is a known issue, but I guess if you take tread and road design/textures as fixed variables, inflation may be the next one.

It is mentioned pretty heavily in the ATP exam!

Some AAA information about wet weather driving techniques....Interesting factoid: In water that is just 1/12" deep, each tire has to displace over 1 gallon per second...
