But isnt that because it's one of the most common cars on the road? Most commonly stolen car in UK 2022 is apparently the Ford Fiesta. But having my Model 3 stolen is not on any list of worries for me.
From what I’ve read here (and elsewhere) the vulnerability that’s being exploited is only present in MCU1 vehicles.I see mention in this thread that the MS cars stolen may all of had the MCU 1 unit and not the MCU2!? Is that just a theory or does an upgrade to MCU2 fix this particular security issue.
So, is everyone considering buying a club for their Teslas? I'm just going to get one because there are too many variables and ways that thieves seem to get access to the cars.
Here in the UK, whatever tracking ability our Tesla may have is not recognised by our insurance companies. It would have to be endorsed by Thatcham. The insurance underwriters are also deaf to the pin to drive feature.Tesla tops list of least stolen vehicles – GPS tracking will do that
All of Tesla’s vehicles have topped the list of least stolen vehicles in the US, thanks to having GPS tracking...electrek.co
Pin to drive also can prevent thefts.
I don’t know about UK.Here in the UK, whatever tracking ability our Tesla may have is not recognised by our insurance companies. It would have to be endorsed by Thatcham. The insurance underwriters are also deaf to the pin to drive feature.
Tesla are entering the age of subscription services for software value adds. It they were to offer a fast response tracking service accessed by a dedicated access number, I would pay. This could be easier to achieve and perhaps more useful than FSD.( contentious).
Of course, I could just subscibe to a Thatcham approved service.
Of course! Nothing I said suggested that I do not value (and use ) the PIN and whatever tracker ability the car has.I don’t know about UK.
I use Pin to drive just because I don’t want someone to steal my car (regardless of insurance). My insurance provider doesn’t care if I have it either.
I’ll make do with a Penguin. Most people are easily distracted by sweet things …So, is everyone considering buying a club for their Teslas? I'm just going to get one because there are too many variables and ways that thieves seem to get access to the cars.
