I agree that PlugShare is the best app at least for East TN and Western NC. But it is frustrating as most public chargers are crippled at 6kw or 208V and 30 amps.

My favorite site is http://www.recargo.com , it has lots of good data and details plus has live status of Blink and Chargepoints. It also has listings for superchargers and hpcs.

Are these chargers at the Nissan dealerships public chargers?
I would have thought that they are for their Leaf customers.

Uses data from Plugshare, but lets you set a route and specify how far from that route you want to search for charging stations, then bookmark those stations along your route.
Make sure when you are using public charging stations to check-in on Recargo or Plugshare and rate them, leave tips/info/photos! I really hope those two websites merge soon. I think Plugshare has a better interface because you can browse the map without searching, but Recargo has the app.

Wow - ChargePlanner seems like best yet. I keep a list at EV Tripper - should have an "energy planning app" up and running within a week or so for beta. It will calculate the energy needed for a route taking speed, HVAC, hills, weather into account.
With ChargePlanner, I couldn't figure out how to force routing and select particular charge stations. I'd also like to see it add the terrain-awareness that Green Race provides. Still, a very good start.

We've integrated chargers in EVTripPlanner in version 2.1 (http://EVTripPlanner/planner).
Our new release due out this week will auto-route through superchargers also.
it will plan your route, estimate energy usage and then show you superchargers and conventional chargers along the route.
You can then select where you want to charge and it will adjust your route accordingly.
We think it is the most comprehensive tool around.
