The camera gets taken down usually for a few weeks every year for maintenance or testing or something. Though has not been down this year yet. I do have premium connectivity.

I use it when stopped in a queue at the lights to keep an eye on the bike lane that I'm about to cross over when the lights go green.

Its not needed at all, those mirrors on the outside of the car do the job perfectly.
New indicator symbols definitely much improved (larger) and alternate between a bright green and dark green rather than on or off.
Having had decent rain in Sydney today (first time in a while) auto wipers seemed improved too.
Also is the symbol showing you can change wiper settings via left scroll wheel after pressing the wiper button new?, or had I just not noticed it.

And as I said the reason they only appear when using nav and not displaying when not using nav (which if you go back and read the question) has nothing to do with monetization.
Because, like traffic, it's presumably a service they pay for access to and they are a business who are there to make money.
The point George is making is whether it shows up on route only or everywhere is nothing to do with monetisation which was the question you responded to.

The maps will have speed camera locations - just as they already do with relocated speed limit signs. If you use Nav in Standard connectivity you don't see the speed cameras. You only see it if you use Nav in premium connectivity. How you use premium connectivity is then up to you. For example if you have premium connectivity it's but do not use nav then you are paying for traffic notifications but not using it to its full potential.
I think it is fairly likely that the source for the speed camera locations is the same as the source for live traffic (this is presuming it shows the recent locations of mobile speed cameras).

Here’s a weird thing… the status page seems like it’s not connecting (which it isn’t), go to the controls page and do something like open the boot… the boot opens, the HV contactors click and the first page updates.

My AppleCarPlay Google maps only show speed limits when in Nav mode (destination entered). Tesla however displays speed limits in non Nav mode standard connectivity . I suspect the visualisation availability depends on what each car nav vendor is prepared to pay
