    Single Phase Charging Options

Have a look around and see if you can get a cheap wall charger 2nd hand, they do pop up from time to time. The UMC does do 32A, but not with the specific 32A tail, so your costs will be similar. If you do get a sparky to install a socket, definitely go for 32A and not just a 15A. I only...

    Cybertruck spotted in Sydney

I get the so called publicity, but I don’t buy it. It appears to have cost a heap of cash to build that thing, so it’s very far from what would normally be called free publicity (I know you don’t actually say that). As far as the test bed for 48v and Steer by Wire, that could have been done...

    New Model 3 Performance news

Totally agree with you, if people like one pedal driving, that's awesome. But its not the be all and end all. As I have said in my previous post, I think its simply a matter of engineering blended brakes to work well with good pedal feel is very difficult. Coasting does feel nice in the...

    Model 3 roof glass crack

I hate to me that person again, but I'd seriously choose a steel roof if available. A glass roof is a vanity item. a stone hitting a steel roof causes a chip and perhaps a dent. The world has gone insane. Perhaps its worth wrapping the roof! As a side note, did you know classic sports cars...

    New Model 3 Performance news

Biggest issue with a Tesla from that fine tuned driver aspect is that a Tesla doesn't have blended bakes. Eg, the brake pedal is only connected to the friction brakes. On other brands, the brake pedal can control regen and friction brakes. That way you can choose zero re-gen on the...

    Ampol AmpCharge network

There is no reason that AmpCharge or whoever could run and maintain a AC network just the same. They have some basic information on their website. EV Charging for Business | Business Solutions | AmpCharge

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I can only guess, but if its like the mates Sorento, the car starts beeping letting you know its going to happen and in about 5 seconds it opens, if you move away before hand and it stops beeping. Like others have said, it's something I'd switch off.

And the car having UWB also, which I believe for our market is just the Model 3 Highland. Another slap on the wrist for Tesla old tech. This stand behind the tailgate is in a mates 2018 Kia Sorento using a regular old fashioned car industry key fob. UWB should have been in all Tesla's for a...

    New Model 3 Performance news

This Model 3 performance is what it should have been from the start, Performance Seats, some subtle styling differences from the RWD/LR, adaptive suspension, carbon interior strip. Just because I am always on the pessimist side, and want companies to do better. - The rear seats have not been...

    Ampol AmpCharge network

I think 11kW AC is even better, costs comparative peanuts to install. As long as they were not free, you could have 40 of them and basically guarantee a spot for arrivals.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I agree with most of this, the Tesla software is indeed way beyond other auto manufacturers. HOWEVER, while the map screen is awesome, the navigation itself isn't as good as Apple Maps in my opinion, no 3D intersection visualisations etc, Apple maps now has even spot on lane markings on its...

    Supercharger - Taree, NSW

Because you have to stop often to charge, pretty simple. Each to their own, but even as an EV owner, I don't have time for that. An EV can tow things fine for short distances, but I am not stopping every 150km. Like I said, in my original comment, I wouldn't tow a caravan if someone paid me...

    New Model 3 Performance news

We pretty much already knew these details, including the adaptive suspension and the sports seats. What actual grinds my gears here is that rather than praising Tesla for adding sports seats and adaptive suspension, it should be met with an about bloody time. Its been the standard on Euro...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Apple Maps does this. I find it way to long and miss 5 seconds of the Pod cast or what ever I am listening to, it just needs a beep or something unique that you are familiar with, doesn't need to fade out the audio.
  22. Zoltrix77

    Supercharger - Taree, NSW

I just think long distance towing in an EV is not worth it anyway. TBH, I don't even think long or short distance towing if it involves a caravan is worth it ever!

    BP Pulse Network

So they pulled the plug, pardon the pun after barely starting? Pitty, it initially seemed like one of the better efforts. The 150kW 4 stall setup at my local BP with an attached Wildbean seems very logical.

Car Network connectivity solutions 2G-3G-4G-5G - Australia

I read some news article about Tesla working on 5G vehicle;e modems about a month ago. Its was worded like they invented the wheel. I got down voted for pointing out that it was about time and its not rocket science. Saying that, it seems like embedded industrial cellular back haul is...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Its a great colour, but I am still think a darker colour hides the bubble like shape of the Model Y. This would look great on the 3. But still, its just paint and I cannot understand the price premium above $1500. If this were a Toyota or Kia, the paint colour wouldn't be a premium above...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

UWB could actually detect where you are in relation to the car, like a traditional car fobv (The Tesla one is just bluetooth). Eg, only allow you to open the door you are near. EG, if you stand next to the drivers door, you cannot open the passenger side door/s. Its just a matter of...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

This is exactly how I think, yes, its impressive, yet totally useless at the same time. Better use of Tesla resources to me is expanding their market making excellent EVs. Self parking cars don't help any much at all. This is also why I see money spent on the development of the Cybertruck and...

A Porsche Taycan has a transmission tunnel too. However, its not what you think. The area is actually where battery's/cells are not occuping. Unlike the rear of a Model 3 where your knees are around your ears

HW4 confirmed for Australian Model Y's

Didn't I say its not to my tastes anyway? My point is why bother having 2 parts in the same factory that serve the same function, a dash with an RGB strip and one without. Some people are obviously impressed by RGB strips, hence the reason there is one in the Model 3. Regardless of it being a...

HW4 confirmed for Australian Model Y's

I don't think the the colour options are expensive enough.... I mean people love spending $5000-6000 on paint, its trendy, $2300-$2600 is little poverty sounding. Seriously, I guess even more white cars in the future, because this giving me vibes browsing the Porsche configurator. The new...

Yes, the high capacity sites are now all good. Trouble is that Gundagai has always been a big stopping point, lines up with lunch. Will be glad to see the in town and Tarcutta sites; would only then stop at the tucker box if it was at night

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Does it really matter what it will be called, could be called the Model Z, Tesla Jelly Bean or the Tesla Celery Stick. Because it has no official name, I think its fine for us to call it the Model 2 for the time being.

Perhaps we have a misunderstand standing, I took your commend "I agree with non Tesla but a borrowed Tesla will still need a Tesla phone key and therefore the Tesla App" to mean that why would you not use plug and charge whilst lending a car. You could just lend them the access card only, or a...

    Toyota Bz4X

Look what I found when driving past the local Toyota dealer. My half baked summary: - Looks like a Toyota, thats fine, its not horrib,e - Interior / Dash is horrible. Supercharger - Albury, NSW

Oh I don't personally, just think it needs to be an option for others rather than needing an app and I am just curious to how it works. It's also not beyond the realms of one day turning off plug and charge in your Tesla for cars that are borrowed etc.
