A little late to the party, arriving here in early 2014, bought into the story of Tesla, and started buying shares. Now happy to finally be 10% in the black after the last 12 months volatility! Looking forward to being an owner and meeting others.

For those "worrying" about the short term implications of these notes.... I really wouldn't. As cool as car sharing is nothing will trump the personal ownership as mentioned above, but more importantly nothing will trump personal liability and the interests of insurance companies and state laws that would need to catch up with this. Nothing to worry about.

Lab description
This lab focuses on the Physics and Chemistry of Materials for Energy Storage, primarily in the area of Lithium-ion batteries. Our goals are to improve the energy density, increase the safety, decrease the cost and improve the cycle and calendar lifetime of the batteries. There are projects on new positive electrode materials, new negative electrode materials, and Li-ion battery safety that are well established and have a long history in the group. Our studies of the reasons for the failure of Li-ion cells began in 2008 and now represent the largest focus area for the group.Additives to the electrolytes of Li-ion cells are known to dramatically effect the lifetime and cycle life of Li-ion cells. High precision coulombic efficiency measurements allow the rapid ranking of the effectiveness of electrolyte additives. Fundamental studies using surface-sensitive techniques are now being established to understand how additives work with the ultimate goal of finding additives that make Li-ion cells last many decades!

WHO was the repugnant host responding to Ron Baron? He couldn't keep from interjecting misleading non-sequiturs like "dirty coal", "mid-engine Porsche" and the like, all the time making nasty faces. I think he also did a good job of de-railing Ron and the arguments he was trying to craft. It looks, however, that the market saw through that as most investors have a very high regard for Ron Baron.

yeah, that was borderline upsetting listening to the host in that video. this video cant be the only catalyst for this big jump, what are we missing?
