Moving from NJ to Ontario with a Tesla X & 3 - advice pls!

My family owns two Teslas. We thought we'd be in the US for years so bought two cars, but now are being moved for work after only two years and want to bring our two cars with us.

I've read older posts where it seems there were problems, but am hoping that it's become increasing easy to import used Teslas. Anyone done this successfully for either an X or a 3? Any tips on what modifications (if any) have to be made to the cars and how to overall make it go smoothly? Posting in the X forum as I think that will be the more complicated of the two...

I've not done the move, but had a friend move a Canadian pair of Teslas (3 and S) to California and it was just software on Tesla, and they got on the US upgrade and firmware schedule.

In fact, his 3 is now on the FSD Beta.

So, moving a US car to Canada and registering the software as such for Canada might put you in danger of being on later releases of FW.

Thanks! Good to know but hard to avoid I guess. Whether we take our cars with us or buy new in Canada we'd have this same problem.
