Just bringing it in line with US pricing would help... It's a $40k car in the US (£33k) which should be £40k with vat, UK buyers are effectively paying an £8k premium. Prices for new and used will tank even more soon imo.
Don’t forget that the USA website prices don’t include sales tax.

That’s another ~10% on top of the sticker price in most states and then in the UK we’re paying another 10% vehicle import duty on Shanghai/Fremont made cars as well as VAT.

It’s closer than it seems If you strip out the tax impact. Once we start getting Berlin made vehicles the import duty should drop to zero and knock 10% off prices, obviously they need to build the second factory building first to achieve that for M3.
