A quick check of the metadata shows that the photo was taken a week ago (Oct 10 at 6:49PM).

Looking at the clouds in the sky it doesn't look like the photo was taken yesterday ...

Sheesh, talk about raining on my parade. :frown:

"The date range Oct 5[SUP]th[/SUP] – 19[SUP]th[/SUP] communicated earlier was the estimated delivery window that we were planning to deliver your car. Unfortunately supplier constraints at the factory have caused some production delays...

We are sorry for the delay, as it may come as a disappointment. Thank you for your patience during this very exciting time at Tesla. I can’t wait to deliver your Model S and get you behind the wheel! Please feel free to call or email me if you have any questions or concerns.

I assume I'm not getting a car by Friday.

Gentlemen, Tesla has stated that only a few cars have been produced out of order. I'm ahead of both of you and just got word only today that my car is ready for transport. It's been a long wait for many of us, but a little more patience is still needed.

I apologize.

We are having great weather and it was overcast last week. After I posted the response with the weather comment I knew that I should have let it go.

You will love the car and it will be perfect when it arrives.

Well, I think it was worth noting that whoever sent that picture might have been misleading him. For me it's some more info about how much trust/faith should I should put in statements made (although I suppose I should have enough data on the subject by now).

Model S Production and Customer Deliveries

With the focus on production and deliveries, I built a model that shows a scenario where the customer deliveries in Q4 are 2,500 vehicles.

This model has the Signatures completed the week ending Sunday, Nov 11 and delivered before Sunday, Nov 25. Also, this scenario has the manufacturing run rate of 400 cars/week achieved by year end.

We wil, obviously, see what happens.

Sig 667/VIN 461 (Silver Performance, Tan Interior, CF Accents and Spoiler, 19 Inch Wheels, Panoramic Roof) is scheduled for factory delivery tomorrow at 1 PM Pacific Time. I hope I can sleep tonight! (Pictures to follow tomorrow if I can figure out how to post them.)

haha..good luck. I had a crazy dream where i got my S last night. It was all messed up though, I couldn't find my key fob. when I did, it was linked to my little RC model S. There were a bunch of other strange parts to the dream including my S being something of a segway with an aluminum cage that did 0-60 in way too fast for the form of the vehicle!

...and i don't expect mine until Christmas

timdorr (or anyone),

This has probably been explained, but I can't find where: how do we read the delivery spreadsheet in post 2 to determine actual deliveries? If a delivery range has an end date in the past, does this mean that this vehicle has been delivered? If the end date is in the future, does it mean that this vehicle has not yet been delivered? Thanks.

Edit: Oops! I just noticed the other tabs on the spreadsheet. Sorry.

The way I've been marking it is if they have been delivered, or have a definitive date of delivery, the end date of the range is blank. If they have a range, then that's the last I've heard from them. Many folks have only posted that they've gotten the delivery range, but don't update when they actually get the vehicle.

Further complicating things is the fact that most date ranges are now updated, but most people aren't posting those updates here on the board.

So, unfortunately, it's not very accurate right now. With any luck, it'll clean up itself as people post new date updates. I'm watching these forums like a hawk, so just post and I'll see it ;)

After seeing the email from GB on the "4-6 week delay" I emailed my new delivery specialist to determine if this delay was in addition to the delays already announced.

My delivery window had been pushed out last week to October 19-November 2. Today I received a reply that in part said:

"There is a delay in the production of your Model S, and with existing conditions, it could possibly be as long as 4-6 weeks from the end of your current stated delivery window (October 19-November 2). I certainly hope that the full delay won’t come to pass for your Model S!"

That means that my window is now November 30-December 14. This doesn't square with other posts I have seen on this and the TM forums but I wonder if others are seeing this as well. Anyone else get this response or does my new rep need to be educated?

Yeah, that doesn't jive with what George actually said:

The primary impact of this revised production ramp is that early Model S deliveries have been moved out approximately 4 to 6 weeks. For some of you, this change means that the estimated delivery date on your order paperwork has now passed, and you may have had the delivery date of your Model S scheduled and then re-scheduled to a later date.

Emphasis is mine. He's referring to MVPA's from SSLs and early S's that had listed delivery dates of Sept. 2012 but received their vehicles this month, as indicated in the 2nd sentence. There was a recent 1-2 week delay, which further confused things. Although, it appears this is not a production-impacting delay, as they are still building cars while they store the 99% complete ones waiting for parts.

Your 10/19-11/2 range should be accurate. I think the rep just needs to clear things up with management.

I was with you until the end. I am Sig 304, and my original paperwork said September. Then I was given a two week window from 10/12-10/26. Subsequently, on Monday I got a call saying there was a two week delay, so I'd be looking at mid-November, but truly they really don't know when the car will be ready. In any event, if I actually got the car in mid-November, that would be approximately the six week delay from the original September (assuming Sept 30). I doubt Sig 1299 (even with VIN 668) on the east coast would get delivery within the next two weeks, especially because it takes 7-10 days to get the car from the factory to the east coast, and that's assuming the car is ready to go.

I'd assume all delivery windows given before yesterday at not valid, unless your delivery specialist has told you it's actually on a truck on its way from the factory. Trust me, from experience, it's much better to hope for the best but continue to expect delays. I think that's the underlying message of GeorgeB's note.

Bmek, Thanks for the graph - it's awesome!

I should probably know this, but how do I map my P1937 number onto the graph? Do I add the number of sigs etc ?

I'd like delivery# = P# + 1200 + ??? ....

BTW, I got a call in this week that my delvery window of Nov-Dec has not changed.

Thanks,
Ken
