Be patient, it’s coming. With the 3 aging( not that it’s out dated, just not the new new anymore), the increased demand for the Y being America and our love for SUVs, and the flood of low mileage used 3’s on the market. Something will need to be done to move new 3’s.

Lol they of course will use the same NMC battery on all model 3?

Will they?

Because these specific batteries everyone is recently talking about are made in china, by CATL, for chinese cars specifically.

original report on this said:
The sources said CATL also plans to supply Tesla in China next year with an improved long-life nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery whose cathode is 50% nickel and only 20% cobalt.

Tesla in china. Not worldwide.

Indeed if you go back to February the CATL for made-in-china batteries was already being discussed-

Whereas Tesla is supposedly working on their own domestic battery production, likely with different cells.

"Cheap and light" is going into made in china model 3s (and Ys I'd expect)

Much higher capacity and discharge tech is what's going into things like Plaid Model S/X and the Roadster (and likely Cybertruck and semi).
