Excellent idea OP.
It would be great for tesla to do something like this when gen3 is released.
It would definitely boost sales and give people confidence to buy a new product that they will rely on so much and spend allot of money on.

They need to do this now, not wait for Model 3. Many owners of Model S are freaked out by the possibility of expensive powertrain repairs after the warranty expires. Those owners need peace of mind, as do future buyers of Model S.

I object to this characterization somewhat. "Reasonably concerned" is a better phrasing -- especially in extended-warranty-denied states.
