Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
So Tesla dropped off my white/black/cf plaid. The lady’s Uber arrived before I was even done looking over it, and I still didn’t even pay for it. I was financing 50% and supposed to send the balance while the lady was here snd she just left “my Uber is here”.
So weird. 😂
Also the later vin is...
I think I’ve decided to sell my 2 plaids, take delivery of my LR in October, and if I’m still yearning for a plaid I have a white/whitecf saying early December now and that’s the one I’ll keep.
I’ll put the $60k I saved not going plaid towards building a TT R8 or something.
I have a scheduled delivery today and haven’t heard anything from my advisor. Granted I never heard anything from her period. She sent one email last Saturday at 4pm “your car is here. You have to take possession by wed or we will release it. I replied and heard nothing back from her since lol...
I see what you’re saying but I think if the plaid had more custom touches, and the lr was as it is now, the LR is still an amazing car and value and would sell well. There’s a huge demographic that wants the tech, and overall nice package , with respectable performance.
I guess, coming from...
I’d try snd get closer to what you have into it and not eat the tax.
if I had to wager I think the LR will hold up considerably better on the secondary market. It’s nearly as fast as the outgoing performance model, better everywhere else (suspension, interior, etc)and the same price bracket...
In a similar situation. I have a second plaid due in Friday. I own a msm now thst I have a buyer for , and this one would be in my first color choice, white. I also have a white Lr due October.
Honestly if the lr was here now I’d likely just get it and be happy, and stick $60k back in my...
I have an LR order due in late October-nov and tbh I feel like if that was here now I’d take it over my plaid.
I have a white/black/cf plaid set for delivery and I’m deciding between keeping it and selling once my Lr comes or passing on it all together and being Tesla-less until mine comes.
The 3 was more nimble for sure but the refresh closed that gap considerably. The steering felt a tad tighter on the 3 and some of this might be having a proper wheel, but I could take tight turns at a higher rate of speed more confidently in the 3.
Zipping through traffic, or parking lots is...
So after a few days of driving the plaid, I must say I can’t see how the market on 2019-2020 Model S doesn’t tank.
This car is far and away better than my 2020 model S performance. Beyond the fit and finish, and material quality improvement the way the car feels, and drives is monumentally...
Does the plaid feel more nimble than the Raven performance? Had a m3p and Raven and I thought the 3 was way more fun just due to how boat like the Raven felt.
I’ve had my plaid for 2 weeks but haven’t driven it yet due to waiting on ppf. Kinda hoping it feels somewhere between the 3 and Raven...
I was pretty dead set on carbon but seeing the ebony wood in person I actually like it as well. I’d still slightly prefer carbon but definitely don’t regret my decision at all.
Pics?
I had a white interior m3p, and Raven S performance. I loved both, but was very back and forth on interior color for the plaid. Ended up getting black and no real regrets tbh. I’d have been fine either way. Exterior color as well. I’d have taken anything but black exterior.
As much as...
I’ve literally had ppf on 30+ cars and all looked brand new after years(even notoriously problematic cars like 911tt) so, I’ll take my chances until someone comes out with a clean mudflap setup.
What’s the alternative? Have the door get sandblasted instead? Or park the car until then?
Maybe at some point, years down the road. But I’ll take that over the door looking like *sugar* in 4-6 months.
I agree though. Some mudflaps would probably help.
Got mine last night. Pics definitely didn’t convey how much more aggressive it is. Having it next to my 2020 performance it’s a pretty stark difference.
Wanted cf trim but the ebony is actually really nice.
Won’t drive it until I can get it into get ppf done.
That said. How many of you...
I gave up on waiting on my 4 reservations and bought a 500 mile msm on black today. Should be here in a week.
Really wanted red or white but I’m in a tax free on used car state so ended up saving $15k + at the price I paid.
I personally wish they just left the same setup as the 3/y. The gear selection stalk and signaling via stalk with 2 scroll wheels works perfect. Going from rev to D on the fly is so seamless
If you were in your plaid and some kid rolled up on you in his AWDcivic hatchback and took your lunch money would you give a *sugar*? Or would you go “eh it’s still a civic “ ?
For car guys it’s more than just speed. Most enjoy the visceral experience. Speed is only part of the equation. Air...
Possibly if it really holds power up there. The aero is good so it’s got that going for it. Generally I’d see about 30-35mph from 1/4 trap to 1/2 in most cars I’ve ran.
This is part of it and has been an issue for a while. There’s a lot of cars where with a few grand in mods are ineligible to run based on outdated nhra guidelines.
You can’t compare a 90s fox body to modern day, cars, and these rules need revisions. The difference in drama between an 8 sec...
I just get bored easily and need change lol Sometimes its more about the change in driver experience than a “better “ experience.
But I agree. For a daily driver I’m not sure what else can do better.
