But seriously: Model S is too expensive. If you wouldn't consider buying a $50K ICE car, then maybe you should think twice about Model S.

i would say the opposite. i would rather buy a fancy used ICE car for less money. as far as new, the tesla is the only car that is worth the price as far as we are concerned.

I have to say don't buy it if its too much money for you. Just beware that other cars that look less expensive actually aren't. When I looked at just getting another Acrua vs a Tesla I was surprised that it was actually the same financial decision:

But don't spend money you can't afford to. The car is fantastic and have zero regrets

If you have other, more important things, to spend your $80-$120K on;
- education for your children;
- retirement;
- paying off debt;
- money in the bank for the "unexpected"

it it is a very nice car but still just a car non the less.
