Why I won't order my Tesla...yet

Tracking ~750 gallons of gasoline not purchased/burned and counting! Yes, electrons were generated somehow but thankfully I live where Hydro/sun/wind is a very large fraction of power generation. And even if fossil was used to generate the power I've used the efficiency of base power generation and transmission is still several times that of shipping gasoline to an ICE and burning it.

I'm someone that always hated cars.. All cars. I considered them a necessary evil. Luxury cars more so. The Model S is the first car to come along that ever captured my imagination. Nine of the top ten reasons I bought this car are because it is a pure EV. I think there are a lot of other owners like me. Nitpicking over cup holders and how comfy the seats are makes me laugh. Getting to play a part in the EV revolution, now that is exciting.

The only issue of the OP that I can relate to is cost. That is the only meaningful weakness of Tesla. With success today, cost will improve.

I don't understand the OP's reasoning. I can say a Lexus es300 is fine for me luxury-wise and a Tesla doesn't justify the 70k price difference. Anyone can b/c its their opinion on what the Model S' worth in tech, innovation, and overall experience. If you have experienced the MS and feel the cost is not justified vs any car, then fine. I don't see what is the point of starting a thread about it.
