And now I'm back to late June.

Did your MyTesla actually change to August as per the letter and then change back to late June?

Doubt it. Mine never changed which I interpret to mean that it hasn't changed YET. Cos if there was a change from August to something earlier, then Tesla would have fallen over themselves to have told us....

What do you think?

Still ain't got no VIN...

I've just logged in and I'm also now "September", this is really disappointing. ZTrekus does yours say "Late September" or just "September"?

Late.... But then I bought around 2 Feb 2015 so am further back in the Queue.

Estimated Delivery

Late September
This time frame is only an estimate and is subject to change based on current production schedules and option availability. Please expect that this timing will shift to provide the most accurate estimate possible. Your delivery appointment will be confirmed by your Delivery Experience Specialist once your vehicle is fully assembled and en route to the nearest Tesla location for final inspection and preparation.

Just to put this into perspective, us early adopters finalised our orders in June 2014, then waited for Tesla to open in the UK, then in Hong Kong, then a bit more silence before we got our cars in December 2014 or January 2015 depending on where you lived.
Tesla is a small company running at full capacity to keep up with order books, so any hiccups like opening in other countries or additional modifications for dual motor RHD models will have a bigger impact when compared to more established manufacturers.
Whilst any delay is disappointing, I doubt Tesla has any less respect for an order from Australia versus America.
Certainly with a local team now on the ground here I have received answers to my inquiries on week-ends and out of hours indicating they are working hard on our behalf.

IF IT IS ANY CONSOLATION, by the time Late September 2015 comes around, and with a little bit of good luck:
1) There could be a few more advances towards the autopilot system released through software (at least including reverse parallel parking, I mean c'mon Toyota have had that for years);
2) Tesla's Australian Supercharger is supposed to have been partially built...(Though I'll believe that when I see it).

I know, I am a little skeptical but I am trying to keep an open mind.

I don't think software improvements really matter in this case, because we'll eventually get them anyway.

What I'm hoping for is new hardware, just like how they added autopilot hardware to every car last year, hopefully they'll add something this year too.

Yes, other subtle changes were flipping the blinkers with the cruise control positions and increasing the size of the sun visors...

So perhaps by the time our cars get built there are a few more tweaks too...

Like this, for example: Tesla's Model S has a SECRET James Bond mode: Tapping in 'T007' on dashboard 'transforms' it into submersible spy car | Daily Mail Online

AND WHAT'S WITH THE FRUNK??

Have you noticed, we say: - They say:

Blinkers - Indicators
Roundabout - Turning Circle
Footpath - Sidewalk
Boot - Trunk
Bonnet - Hood
Power Point - Wall Plug
4WD - SUV
Ute - Pickup

So I can see how Frunk is spose'd to mean Front Trunk... But we say Boot, and Foot or Froot for Front Boot just doesn't have the same ring to it....
And besides Frunk just sounds like your swearing.... No imagination whatsoever... Even Cockpit would sound better....

But if that's too sexist these days, we can always call it the Box Office...

Headlights is a maybe, did you see the thread where someone took some photos of a trade plated MS in the states that was testing LED headlights?

Edit: Next Generation Headlights?

Yep I did see that thread. However I'm worried that it might be a paid option (assuming it's actually in the works). Since the AUD price of the Model S has gone up considerably in the past few months (about $11,000 for my config), I wouldn't change my config and be charged the new price just to add little things like headlights. I'd only consider it if they come out with a bigger battery pack or something.

I've had a 'front boot' in my smart Roadster, it's always been called 'the boot'. A 3 box sedan doesn't call the boot the 'back boot' so 'the boot' has always been the generic term for an enclosed space for luggage. The space in the back has always been 'the hatch', so the Tesla has a boot and a hatch storage area.

Given the Merc laser lights are something over $5k to replace in a crash, I doubt that I'd pay extra for them in any case
