Tesla model 3 does not receive any updates nor downloads them [car not in original country of purchase]

Ive recently bought tesla which i was dreaming about when I was younger. I like it all the way but car does not update or receive\download updates. Its 2018 year, but theres installed computer 3.0. I got no idea why, but probably it was changed by first owner when he bought FSD beta. Then he crashed car a bit in back side after the accident it was shipped to Russia to previous owner before me. So now Im seeking any advices or maybe remote help to atleast to get to know whats up and what to do later. Maps are NA, tesla app premium is working, I guess certificates are alright. Maybe somebody could assist with that. Thanks in advance!

You didn't say how long you've waited for an update, but since you said you bought it recently, I'm guessing you haven't waited long enough. Sometimes updates come in a few weeks, sometimes in a couple of months. Check the TeslaFi firmware tracker to see where you are in relation to the rest of the fleet, and then be patient.

As you can see it’s actually way too old, I asked few people about that, they told me if certificates were not alright, update would be downloading, but car would not start an update, so actually nobody could not help me any way

Maybe because the car is not configured properly for your country. It also needs to be removed from FSD beta since FSD beta is not available where you are.

Since the car is on FSD beta software release, it will only download FSD beta software versions. Since there is no FSD beta software available in your country, it has nothing to download.

So possible reason is that car checks its location and avoids updating? Still I’ve just bought it and it was covered with white vinyl which is currently being removed. We got here in Russia few specialists who can help with that problem, I’ll contact them when I’m ready and give feedback.

Maybe? The software version starts with "2021" so it has not been updated since 2021, or more than a year and half. You need the specialists in your country who can help you with salvage vehicles.

Bro, 2021 is maps version. FSD beta 2022 is uploaded here. Yeah I will have to do something with that, probably after car was imported nothing was done, no any programming conversion. Still car rides ok, was amused there’s ape3.0 installed instead of 2.5

You are right, I missed that was the map version. Still, you likely need to look to the specialists you mentioned, to address whether the car has connectivity, how to get firmware updates out of the cars home country, etc.

I surprised the cell even works on the car. I would have thought that any updates would have been blocked because it in Russia.
