Tesla in negotiations to allow Supercharger access to other manufacturers?

Actually, this makes a lot of sense - a high end boutique type manufacturer can easily turn a profit on an EV, and can't really justify spending enough to build a network for the few cars they sell, nor sell the car as well without the network

Wasn't Bentley experimenting with electric prototypes and talking up how smooth and refined electric drive was a couple years ago?
Walter

Maybe, but Bentley is owned by VW.

I prefer the idea of Aston Martin, if only because people could ask owners at Superchargers "Is that a Tesla?"

Guessing the electric Aston Martin model that is coming, or maybe the Rimac. Or an unrevealed Koenigsegg?
They are expensive cars, so access to the SC-network is a no-brainer as the price increase is minimal. But the usability of the car with SC is +/- unlimited. And buyers of these cars demand a bit more than 50kW CCS....

Remember - access to the SC network requires a car that can utilize the chargers. In other words - it will take a long time before 20-30kWh cars get access to this network. It`s for long distance travel and high current charging.
That means that producers of cheap cars are probably not interrested at this point. It must be high end manufacturers.

Aston Martin is Preparing a Tesla-Rivaling 800 Horsepower Electric Car

I'd say it is a 1+1, who this european car maker is.

Sure it is not a maker od 20kWh NEVs, not some other economy oriented car makes. It is not germany car maker for obvious reasons.
That leaves those few independant EU car makers, producing 6figure-priced cars. And aston martin already openly talks about it.

Christian von Koenigsegg have said that he believes that electric cars is the future but that not for the nitch they are selling in.

Someone just posted Elon's comments at something in Germany yesterday where he said a German company had approached Tesla wanting to use the Supercharger network and he said then that his only two requirements are the car needs a high capacity charger so it will charge fast and not hog the supercharger stall and that the company pays Tesla proportionally for their use.

Elon specifically said it was a European company but NOT a German one.

The most likely suspect is Renault.

That would be great - for one, I believe they actually want to do more in the electric vehicle area than most traditional car makers so I believe they are serious about it and won't just screw it up to make a point.

But mainly, I would really love it, because then we might move to having Tesla's chargers as a de-facto standard and can end the silly charging standards debate that was boiling over in Germany.

Definitely think it's Aston Martin (or Jaguar). Their plans for a BEV seem fairly concrete, and they're not so big as to think they can do it themselves, yet not so small they can get away with poor rapid charging (in their price range). Being connected to Tesla doesn't harm the luxury perception of the brand and being connected to Tesla will help the brand to be percieved as more environmentally friendly.

What car manufacturer in their right mind would send their customers to a Tesla branded charging station and make their customers pay for it? That's not going to happen.

Any vendor who isn't concerned about Tesla poaching their customers. Aston Martin is a possibility. Alternately, a large vendor (Fiat?) who is willing to become an equal partner in building out more stations. If Fiat is serious about EVs they're going to need a longer range vehicle as well and the little chargers won't suffice.
