Supercharger - Gila Bend, AZ

I was at the supercharger about 10 days ago, and slow charging was still a problem. I tried two of the face in slots and was getting very slow rates (I can't remember the exact Kw's), so I then went to one of the back in slots where the charging rate was pretty good---I think I was getting about 150 miles in an hour.

Charged today and had no issues. Added 194 miles in 30 minutes. Got up to 117kw I believe.

I have seen mentions on FB that Gila Bend is being upgraded. Any photos or details?

Yes, I saw an FB post as well. 8 new stalls. Sounds like the same location, but I can't tell from the photo.

I'm excited they seem to be expanding a lot of existing sites around AZ. I'm guessing adding to an existing site may be easier permit-wise than a new site?

However, all things being equal, I'd much rather have a brand new location as that helps expand travel routes, ease range anxiety, and helps local communities consider EVs sooner if there's a site in their town.

Charging here now. New v3 stalls are still closed off, but work seems to be progressing nicely.

Note: the in car Nav is reporting 16 stalls (and 250kW max), but only the original 8 v2s are functional, and the “available” count is based on 8 stalls, not 16.

The additional 8 superchargers are active now. Just charged at one of the new ones a couple of days ago. Yuma is also getting some additional superchargers, some of which are activated now.

Gila bend is showing temporary closure right now. Anybody know what's up? Will be driving through on Monday, hopefully the issue is resolved by then.

Hopefully it is just a connectivity issue and the chargers are working fine. I don’t see anything posted for today on PlugShare, but yesterday was fine.
