Wow! It feels like they were pushing dirt around 6-8 weeks ago and according to the pics above, we appear to be all but done! They even have decorative concreted/landscaping in place. By the end of June (Q2) is a 99.9% certainty, I'd say. Maybe even any day now by the looks of this progress!
Anyone have any idea as to what the use case would be for ~30 @ L2 chargers in a location like this?
I just don't see it. . . Superchargers are one thing. You're full in less than an hour, and simply move your car. But with the L2? I guess you can charge to full for 6-8 hours and then awkwardly move your car at that point in time? Maybe they expect cars to sit there overnight as a general rule? However, most folks check into a hotel at ~4PM and are in for the night, right? But now the car sits there for 16+ hours plugged in when it only
needs to be there for 6-8 hours? 2-3 hours of L2 charging while you "shop" and you only get ~75 miles, so the "shopping" argument kinda falls flat. . . I don't get it! Maybe we have a situation where the adjacent hotel adds a handful of L2s just for overnight guests? But this is clearly not what we're looking at. There's going to be ~30 of them! In the middle of the Desert?
I'm sure I'm missing something. . . What do you guys think?
