The location is not super ideal. My only thought is that the tesla service station and showroom nearby had requested a nearby supercharger. The highest number of Teslas I see in the valley are in Palm Springs (which has a supercharger downtown) and in Indian Wells/Palm Desert. To get to those areas, you don't normally take Date Palm Drive. If the supercharger was located closer to I-10, it would alleviate congestion at Indio, but it is halfway between I-10 and 111 according to the map.

Yep, it's live. I didn't get a chance to really figure out where it was last time I drove by going north on Date Palm Drive which was not the idea.

Access is a little tricky at least depending on whether or not you follow the arrows on the road, but it's close to Sonic.

I really have to disagree. I think it is a great spot.

You have Palm Springs for the west side, The slower urban chargers at Rancho Mirage, and these in the middle.

It’s made for people that live or seasonally live in the desert which is becoming more crowded every winter.

Also, another La Quinta location is due to open.

I think this is a great surprise spot.

The issue is that it isn't on the I-10 freeway or on the 111 Highway, so it isn't accessible to folks unless they make an out of the way trip off one of those two arteries. It is 7 minutes (without traffic) from I-10 and 12 minutes from Highway 111. That's annoying.
