That is shaping up to be a massively good chart for Tesla to use in the Q4 letter, as they did in 2015.

Everything except the 7 series is showing a decline for the second straight year, including the former leader S Class. Nothing else will likely reach 20,000 by year end and the Model S is likely to approach or exceed 30,000.

If Tesla shows the cumulative 2014-2016 data, Tesla Model S will show close to a 100% increase while everyone else will show significant double-digit declines (except 7 series, which will show an increase of 3-4k cars). Model X is also gaining market share and starting to climb its way to the top.

This is what slow-moving disruption looks like.

Tesla isn't even on there. Are they not luxury? They're definitely large.

It's due to the fact that Tesla doesn't report monthly sales. US monthly sales are highly variable because of how they focus on overseas production at the beginning of the quarter, and move toward NA production late in the quarter.

And, ummm, on-topic, here we go again with $187 resistance this morning.
It's almost as if a bunch of bears dug a trench at $187 and are defending that trench as if it's the first line of defense against $190

Looks like that $187 line-of-defense this morning got overrun. Bears have fallen back to defending $190

To be determined WHEN TSLA will break thru... it will, of course

I'm sorry folks, but I like this thread as it is, it's also the only place I come on TMC now (used to be the EU SuC thread, but now they're everywhere...)

The crazy thing is that I'm long and my only intention is to accumulate more TSLA, but I still watch the SP like a hawk and follow this thread.

Go figure...

Some shorts covering... that's "who"

Not too many so far, at least at Fidelity:

May be just a tailwind, but will take it... No real negative numbers for tesla, esp since solar deal is past, and projected to provide revenue.

Any macro movement on energy sector?

Tesla Motors battles shareholder in Delaware court

Dec. 7, 2016 10:44 AM • SA Editor Clark Schultz

  • A shareholder lawsuit against Tesla Motors (TSLA+0.6%) in Delaware is moving into the arguments phase.
  • The judge in the case is expected to rule on a request from the plaintiff for internal Tesla records on customer demand and production issues.
  • Tesla'a attorneys maintain that the relevant documents have already been provided.
  • Though the case isn't considered a significant concern for Tesla by analysts, there is the chance that some internal sales projections and production information could be revealed as part of the discovery.
  • The case is Shahid Haque vs. Tesla Motors in Delaware Chancery Court (original complaint filing).
