This was a very motivating thread and I have also added the speakers now but sourced the OEM speakers from a dismantler.
The one twist, is that I also hooked up that middle speaker that is othewise just used to announce the tailgate opening or closing. It’s actually a pretty decent tweeter! I found the warning noise annoying so re-purposing was a benefit but a couple of diodes could have let the speaker do both roles.
As for powering, the easiest is to use the + from the two other speakers and that causes the tweeter to be a centre speaker.
To finish off the project, I also sourced the OEM sub from Ebay and put a better woofer in it. Then used an amp driven by the rear speaker signals as input to an amp that drives the whole lot.
In my opinion, this speaker setup is now actually awesome! Thanks again for putting this together.
