Heard on the new today that NHTSA has decided to take Tesla to court over the failing touch screen issue to force them to issue a recall. The news article said it's a safety issue due to the fact that it could affect operation of the defroster, cause the backup camera to stop working, and eliminate the warning chirps that indicate you're getting too close to something. I believe I heard them say it affects Tesla MX 2016 - 2018 plus a lot more MS. I reported earlier I received a voluntary recall message from Tesla if my touch screen failed they'd replace it for free, but mine has been working fine.
