Maybe it's one of those designs that once it's on the market and seen commonly, it actually looks better. For m sometimes it takes awhile for my brain to adjust. I remember when the 3 came out, I thought it was horrible. Now I like the look, as well as the Y which is obviously closely related.
It will probably go away later when they replace the hatch lid with the refreshed one that has the active aero feature. (But maybe only for the Plaid?)
Or maybe they will call this good enough.
I did see a little bit of it, I haven't ben able to watch much.

I watch them for status on Fremont and its operations, but yeah if you try and see the lights, it's useless lol.
