Damage control?
Banning journalist is the damage.
It hasn’t even been 48 hours since the rule being amended.Twitter auto-banning working about as well as Tesla auto-wipers. They are not just banning real-time locations, but apparently just airport codes now:
Does Twitter have a suicide hotline like Reddit does?Don't do it Elon! You can turn things around! Suicide is never the answer!
If it ever did there's no one left to run it.Does Twitter have a suicide hotline like Reddit does?

super healthy for all parties involved. It's almost like he's reveling in the chaos at this point. (Has kinda felt that way the entire year, actually.)
There would have been no Tesla if he had listened to critics or been just aware of common standards of decency. Trait doesn’t translate well to social media.
lol. probably. he was as right about Covid as Elon. Lol. Zero cases by April 2020 or so and herd immunity by summer 2020...So, any bets on who Elon’s going to get to reveal the shocking news that Twitter censored COVID tweets? Alex Berenson?
as I said ... "Elon twitter files" will be lit. At least with Trump ban you had a bunch of people discussing a ban and some objecting... this latest ban fest from last night gives me a strong "direct order from Elon" vibe
Yeah I don't know what this guy thinks the government can or should do. Twitter is not a monopoly.
Congress has obviously nothing to do with this and deleting tweets and links to ElonsJet isn't a 1A issue. But neither is deleting tweets and links to Hunter Bidens NYPost story. Twitter as a private / public company can set their own rules... ironically both sides seem to forget that but "Elon's side" and his new friends are already announcing congressional hearing desires about twitters handling of Hunters laptop stories... so maybe add this episode of banning journalists to the hearing while you're at it
Yes, technically Twitter is privately owned so technical "free speech" concepts under the First A don't necessarily apply. However, Elon specifically wanted to buy Twitter to protect "free speech" so in that context, criticism of his "efforts" to do so is fair game.Congress has obviously nothing to do with this and deleting tweets and links to ElonsJet isn't a 1A issue. You know, that would actually be pretty appropriate. So, any bets on who Elon’s going to get to reveal the shocking news that Twitter censored COVID tweets? Alex Berenson?
