Cool webapp for model S

How about a map view with nearby tesla drivers (who also have this page open in browser). You could send coordinates to your server (with a permission from user of course) ?

That would be fun! But there's some privacy concerns that would require a lot of attention.. And i'm doing this on free time basis.. But who knows maybe in the future.

Just my opinions:

I think that this 4-way shortcut button is not as good as traditional "tab menu" which was in the previous version.

The weather forecast for coming days was a nice one, now it is missing? (but I didn't like the wind animation on 1.8, it was a little bit distracting)


If you ask permission to send your location to other app users, and also ask for a nick name, I don't think there is any problems. I

t will not send locations when the car is shut down and the locations can be removed from the database after -let's say- 10min of inactivity.

It is a simple mysql + php backend which just stores lat/lon values sent from your javascript, and returns other near users. Then you can plot them on a direction indicator in your app. I may have php functions for this one (to get other items sorted by distance from specific lat/lon point) if you need. I wrote such function for another purpose a couple of years ago.



Anyway, GREAT work. You already have many users here in Finland, as we discussed this "app" in local Tesla owners club facebook group yesterday

About the weather. It is planned to show forecast and probably a radar image on the next release. (When you tap the weather section).
The shortcuts in the center was a product of just making something nontraditional but still keep the esthetics and the user experience.
The second reason for this was to make space for future tabs, and when you used the half screen the tabs looked too compressed.
We'll see what the future brings.. We're just on version 2.0..

Btw. Are there many Teslas in Finland? Anyhow if you would like me to add Finland as an option for news sources. Send me at least 4 finnish newspaper rss url's and ill add it as a selection.

At the moment there are about 80 Teslas registered here in Finland, but more are coming. We do not have official Tesla store(s) yet here and tax incentives are not so good as you have there.

Great stuff. Will it automatically pick up where I am located? On the desktop it has me in Norwich UK rather than where I actually am, near Rye UK - some 350 miles difference. I'm assuming this would be different in the car?. Thanks
