Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
Interesting to see how the stock will respond to Q3 delivery numbers on Monday. The movement today sounds Wall St is not impressed by Elon's twitter hint "an excellent quarter" or Pacific Crest's estimate 22k deliveries (relatively neutral in the analyst community).
Any predictions?
If you look at AMZN essentially doubled from it's mid-Feb lows, you have to admit investing in Tesla is completely mistaken.
Is it possible someone already knows Q3 delivery numbers are not good and starts selling? The volume is not on the low end (1.6M already), which caused me thinking maybe...
If you look at the data in another way, 20-29% choosing Tesla vs 41-52% choosing other brands is not bad at all. Remember 41-52% are usually those die-hard BMW, etc fans, they have never tried a tesla before. Bottom line, Tesla taking 29% of market share while all else combined taking a 52%...
Mobileye Is A $10 Stock That's 'Hyper-Inflated', Could Collapse In 6 Months: Chowdhry
"Do you think, since your corporate servers are running on INTC Chips, it is okay for INTC to demand all your Data, just because you use INTC Processors," the analyst wrote. "This is the height of Stupidity...
I can't see mobileye's logic here. The guy blamed tesla for advertising autopilot as self-driving which Tesla denied. They now blamed Tesla made it hands-free ... Why don't they respond to Tesla's saying they became nasty once knowing Tesla is creating a vision component to replace theirs? They...
After these prolonged discussion of the risks added to Tesla by acquiring over-debted Solar City, the odds that acquisition doesn't go through are bigger than ever, EM got a very good chance to be defeated by Tesla share holders!
Anyone thinks an upgrade by a Wall St bank is overdue? After all bad news in last several months, tesla stock may have bottomed out. I see a big reverse upward if Q3 deliveries are satisfactory, say > 21k.
Tesla Motors, SolarCity Merger Called 'Crazy' as Short-Seller Chanos Says Will Burn $1 Bln/Qtr

01:36 PM EDT, 09/13/2016 (MT Newswires) -- proposed merger with SolarCity was termed "crazy" by hedge fund manager Jim Chanos, according to a CNBC report...
Solar city equity financing SolarCity raises $305 million in deal advised by Soros' firm.
Is Soros making an investment in Tesla stocks via acquiring scty shares? Looks encouraging to me.
To me, the biggest story over the weekend is not autopilot update, it's Apple scrapped the plan to build its own car Apple's Mythical Car Stalls, Stripped For Parts
No other brands/competitors other than Apple IMHO can win the rivalry with Tesla in making EVs. With its most credible competitor...
EM should be really ashamed of his I-don't-care way of treating Tesla share holders. I have been holding tesla shares nearly 3 years now: no gains while lots of pains!
Anyone changed their mind on the merger deal after yesterday's report of scty's dire financial situation (debt/equity > 300%, $3billion in debt, 15 institutions passed by not buying its bonds)? This can sure cause some investors walk away supporting the deal, thus it becomes more likely to fall...
WSJ: SolarCity was near collapsing so EM/Tesla has to buy it
(SCTY), Tesla Motors, Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) - WSJ: Musk Faces 'Financial Crunches' At Tesla, SolarCity
Thanks for the insights! Tesla has disappointed in every single quarter that I can remember and Musk always has excuses (and detailed explanations) why delivery goals are not met. With Model S deliveries now trending down and all kinds of new ways Tesla now uses to sell more cars, there's maybe...
I know there're a lot of Tesla fans (including me) in this board. However the stock performance in last 2~3 years is really under par comparing to other hot names such as AMZN/FB. With Q1 and Q2 misses so big, and then SCTY deal, my belief in EM is really fading.
Until the company beats street...
Someone just dumped 50k shares between 10:32~46 AM EDT. With a lot of uncertainties going to Q3 delivery numbers in a month (i c a number around 20k), maybe time to sell it and wait for good news on M3 (prob. mid next year) before reentering?
Is the 2-year lease option announced by Tesla Tesla reduces entry price for the Model S to $593/month, introduces new 2-year lease option to hold you until Model 3 an indicator of sluggish sales? The stock will be miserable if the Q3 delivery number disappoints after two consecutive misses.
Anyone has any idea the Q3 deliveries will be? This fool article Forecasting Tesla Motors, Inc.'s Q3 Deliveries: Expect a Huge Jump -- The Motley Fool is expecting 20~23k. Sounds a huge undertaking for Elon & Corp considering last two quarters are only 29k in total.
I agree with you that most of the autopilot crash crisis is media hype. My real question is when Tesla will get the benefits of assuming the biggest risk (vs MBLY, NVDA, ALB) and its stock can perform better than these suppliers.
