Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I don’t think volume production of CT is required to move the stock to 300. The market already gave us a preview of what the stock movement could be when start of production is imminent, as it climbed to the 290s leading into Q2 earnings, stayed flat when earnings were released, then tanked...

Maybe, but those of us who believed Tesla's aspirational "500K deliveries in 2020" guidance that they provided in 2014 did very well.

It was political theater and a slight to Elon. The administration miscalculated - they would not have lost the union vote if Tesla had been acknowledged. They certainly did not have to go so cartoonishly overboard in their union favoritism to the point where they had to tell public lies ("you...

I'm not the person you asked, but after doing the research I personally decided against an SBLOC because the loan can be called in at any time, for any reason, and my pledged shares can be sold off to meet the obligation. Regardless of how low I think the risk of such an event may be, I am not...

I keep thinking about this. I absolutely would have told anyone in 2014 "buy this stock and hold for at least 5 years - you won't regret it". 5 years later this investor would look at essentially flat returns vs. the market and would be completely rational in saying "time to move on". At a 5...

Charging in Fremont - where, what options?

You could have run the heat. I think the maximum range penalty in the Roadster for running the heat at full blast is about 10%. Turning off headlights is pointless - they have no noticeable effect on range.

Does it need to be plugged in 24/7? New owner, sharing charger with Model S.

I charged exclusively on 110V the first year I had my Roadster. I can confirm that the fans do in fact kick on and the car does do active cooling at 110V - it just isn't nearly as frequent and doesn't happen immediately upon plug-in as it does with 220.

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

I'm not sure what you think Tesla held back for Q3. The only reason they didn't beat street expectations is because there were a thousand cars "in the pipeline" for European deliveries. They still delivered more cars than they guided for. Besides, most of the price drop was due to the fires...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

Does anyone else think it's really easy to read between the lines here? Pricing this aggressively in China when they are currently supply-constrained suggests to me that they are going to guide for higher production in 2014 than analysts are expecting.
