Well it finally happened I got my new S85 today. As I write she's down there in the garage asleep waiting to be fed after midnight. I have to say, I've bought cars before and this was by far the easiest most pain free experience I have gone through. It's as if I ordered a special order Mac and was just awaiting delivery from UPS. Unlike my previous experiences with dealerships this was stress free. The only anxiety I had was taking delivery and how soon I could get it. My wife and I walked in for our delivery appt and we stayed and talked to our delivery specialist for two hours as he went through all the bells and whistles for my wife. Obviously thanks to you good folks at TMC I was already knowledgeable on the ins and outs of the car.
My first experience with the car driving out of the service center was what you all have described as the Tesla Grin. To borrow a phrase from Pretty Woman (yes i'm quoting a chick flick lol) it rides like it's on rails! It's so smooth. A surprising feature wasn't performance but the fact that I enjoyed the radio so much. lol My wife's favorite feature? Wait for it.....wait for it......being able to put her purse in the center "console" away from her feet and off her lap. lol She's already nixed the add on console...which brings me to my next point.
So as a brand new owner not even 24hrs into it I can tell you one thing that bothers me right off the back......CUP HOLDERS! We had two water bottles and the placement of the cup holders near my elbows was a dumb move. Where do I put my elbows when I have a bottle of water there? So my wife and I layer our water in the center "console". I'm already thinking of how I'm going to position my Starbucks tomorrow morning. lol Since the wife claimed owner ship for the purse in that area I have no other recourse than to buy an alternative to the add-on console. That's pretty much my biggest issue at the moment. And if that's all I have in the coming months and years then I'm doing just fine.
Again, what a wonderful experience all the way through from the Tesla team in San Diego. And thanks to the Tesla team in NorCal for making something pretty damn amazing.
Designed it April 8th at the Tesla store in UTC.
