Time from confirmation to production

Hi--I am not sure or confident that even though the e-mail stated it has "Entered Production", I have very little faith that anything is being built right now. I emailed my DES 3 days ago & have heard nothing. I am trying to remain very positive but the way this process seems to be going, it's getting harder to be  Based on my experience & expectations (yes, high ones), lots need to improve before Model 3 gets on-line. So, even though my VIN is "higher" than yours, there is no real evidence that anything is moving along the line. Hang in there!

what the crap? im a p90d with vin 124110 confirmed jan 1st...

As you know, we have the same DES. I have also sent two emails (one during production and another after it went to in-transit) and neither have been replied to either. Only email I've gotten was saying to upload the back of my license and proof of insurance, which I did and replied to, but no reply to that either. Some people have said phone works better than email.

Hi Z: you are probably right about the phone calls but that's not how they have their system set-up--it's all email & web-site based. I feel kind of bad about calling, leaving a voice mail only to seem like a high maintenance P-I-T-A trying to get updates. I am a bit unhappy & unimpressed so far--not just ATL but also JAX based on my visit, test drive then follow-up. It seems to me (and I HOPE I'm wrong), that they are either under-staffed, under-trained or unorganized. This is a big company selling big ticket items that they know has highly-charged :)eek:) customers and they can't seem to make it happen.

Just got off the phone with the DS in Syossett, NY. They have not received info on delivery options for discontinued 85D's. They apologized for being in the dark as much as we are. They understand that TESLA will have a few options available and will contact and discuss that with us when they are informed from TESLA. Hope that happens soon.

My 70D has been stuck in production since Feb 3, while others have started later and are out. Is this unusual? Can you read anything into it, like potential build issues I shoul be on the lookout for? Thanks.

Having hung around here on TMC for a long time, here are some observations regarding being "stuck" in Production... in order of outcome and verified by owner after the fact...

1) Car exits production line and inspection normally... no real problem.... shipping dates confirmed, then balky stuttering data entry / integration of data with MyTesla system has been the cause. This can happen near end of quarter or near Holidays when things become LIFO vs FIFO. Worst case of this is MyTesla says IN PRODUCTION and you get a call from your DS saying "can you come in within 2 days to pick up your car?" This has happened.

2) Car exits production line and inspection normally... however car is awaiting shipping logistics routing data confirmation/batching and thus is in limbo... sitting on a lot in Fremont with others.

3) Car is one of the two Multi-Coat pearl colors and these take longer to paint.

4) Car is one of the two Multi-Coat pearl colors and the paint has failed inspection....

5) Panel Fitment or other items like doors, leaks, Pano, Hatch, displays, sound etc has caused car to have special attention paid to it.... pretty rare now... but car apparently is handled by a trouble ticket group as you would expect. Tesla does not really divulge this data to owners... and is hidden from Delivery Specialists from what I understand.

6) A part shortage/mishap has caused car to be completed but put aside awaiting the part. This happened to MANY P85D's with Next Gen seats when the seats were first introduced.
