I uses the fuzzy side of 2" wide velcro in the right spot on the console & no more creaking. Mine goes in next week for 12 month service but will have it on the list of to-do's.
If you want the 5 minute treatment, you can get it. If you want more time for questions, especially if the spouse is not 100% up-to-speed, they should spend all the time needed. Not to complain but I spent more time going over the paint, trim & interior to make sure everything was right or...
That did not take long--less than 2 weeks--and one of the puddle lights from China had died. I checked everything and no light so it's probably the circuitry. I will let you know if the eBay seller replies to my note but I won't hold my breath too long...
They look great--are these the ones from Amazon? $60 from China is a bit steep but if they are plug-n-play, unlike the projector lamps, they should sell a few.
I read somewhere in the forum that the SC changed car image (color & red brake calipers) on an owners car while getting service. Maybe this was a top-notch service person & maybe not all will do it but he/she posted a photo of it maybe as long as a year ago.
Just a reminder folks--I will share left over male pins but if you dont have the other parts purchased from Mouser Electronics, just having pins may not help at all.
That looks really nice! Do you have Dip Coat from dyc.com? Dip Coat treats the dip after it dries and "hardens" the dip so it lasts longer & is easier to clean (especially brake dust). I did my 911s wheels and they lasted long enough until I wanted the original finish back.
Mine work fine but were a bit of a challenge to install. As I wrote earlier, I chose to use the current light opening & clear lens so the drilling was not 100% fool-proof. I find it interesting that there are so many projector-type lights but no Tesla versions that are plug-n-play into the...
Norm: Super job on the product, responses & quality! I am very impressed and encourage others that want something like this but find them to be pretty expensive, go this route & you will not be disappointed!
I received all the hardware from Mouser Electronics this morning & off to the garage I went! I used the Dremel with a small sandpaper drum to enlarge the opening on the bottom of the door panel and boner! I have a lot of the male pins left over from Mouser (the min buy is 100) so if someone...
Based on my other cars that had air suspensions, the only part or component that wore out was the rubber bag or bladder. Either due to age or use, the rubber developed a crack or small hole that caused the air to leak out while parked for more than an hour. Once I started the ICE car up, the...
If you like having wipers that dont chatter, dont put Rain-X on it unless you plan on maintaining it on a regular basis. In my experience, the chemicals in the product either deteriorate the wiper blades or gum them up preventing a clean blade interfacing with a clean windshield.
JAS: I don't have the correct contact at Fremont for you--the one I have was in order support & not very reliable or prompt with replies. My opinion on this is call Fremont or your Service Center & tell them you are cancelling the order & expect all monies to be returned within xx days or xx...
I have never had to have a new car painted, wet sanded, or trim replaced. Honda, Mercury, Pontiac, Olds, GMC, BMW, Audi (5) and Porsche (3). Until this one. It is a roller coaster.
Easy for me to say but I would NEVER take delivery of that car. Mine had a few paint & trim issues & they were "easy" to wet sand & fix. This is way over the threshold of reasonable and indicative of a "world-class" vehicle, much less a "world-class" team. Tesla still has a long way to go...
Thanks from here as well. I finally got the puddle lamps via eBay today & started to see what would be involved. I really like the idea of using the existing rectangular clear lenses rather than having to remove the door panel to drill the new round hole, etc. So I used my left-over door...
That was painful to read--not because of length but content! My Model S is almost a year old & I love it but I'm not sure if my next car will be a Tesla. I have had some head-scratching experiences (first-hand & reading several here) that make me think if they don't get their service...
