Of course the Model S took fire. Look what a severe crashing the car had!
In these conditions any other car (EV or ICE) would have took fire IMO.

If you have a deathwish it sure sounds like a hell of a way to go though. Though apparently ineffective for satisfying that wish if you use a Model S.Somehow driving a car at a high rate of speed, getting it airborne, and crashing through a barrier doesn't strike me as the best way to manipulate the stock price. Even in a Model S there is still a big element of risk--something could come through the windshield.
Hm. Tesla reported that they contacted the owner already (and that he's reserved another vehicle, etc.). Presumably they've been in contact with the authorities. The flames completely consumed Tesla , which was later removed from the site . The aim is to locate the owner of the car by the plates , to answer for the damages. - David Chan Caamal
Perhaps someone already addressed this. In case not...Unrelated to the fire, but I thought Tesla does not warrant the car if it is driven into Mexico?
I think there's no doubt that it's a battery fire. The battery pack extends to the front axle, so there are batteries under the aft end of the frunk.

That's a pretty substantial concrete wall it took out.
It was not so much an electrified fence, but instead it appears to be a concrete wall with a electric meter base attached that provides service for the house.

That's a pretty substantial concrete wall it took out. Not sure how it managed the 90 degree movement to then hit the tree, but it it clear that the front section is pretty well ripped off after demolishing that concrete wall.
The heat also make the 18650 cell act like little pipe-bombs. Just take a sealed pipe with water in it and put it in the middle of a hot fire. It will explode, and sound 'like a combustible'.
There hasn't been anywhere near the public awareness of the second fire as there was for the first, in my experience. No one has asked me about it. I think it's already considered "old news" on many fronts. Cars catch on fire all the time. Ho hum.
And it's pretty hard to work up any sympathy for someone who was driving drunk late at night.
Night has nothing to do with it, IMO.And it's pretty hard to work up any sympathy for someone who was driving drunk late at night.
And sympathy isn't the word I would use. Criminal charges is more appropriate. And it's pretty hard to work up any sympathy for someone who was driving drunk
