She'd teach them to fly from flower to flower, drinking the nectar, and then come home and barf it into little hexagonal wax containers???

If you give people some working software, you only solve their problem.

But if you teach them to write their own software, you give them a lifetime of problems.

I think the idea is that "focus on everything" is impossible and meaningless.

Back when I was young, and people hand built computers out of TTL and wire wrap, our department was building a computer called "Epsilon". Someone taped two quotes to it:

"Epsilon is the greatest error that will be tolerated"
"A step forward in all directions" (leaving you where you started)
