Proactive Contactor Replacement

Did you get yours replaced out of warranty? If so, what were the symptoms you had before and then what did it fix? Also, what was your out of warranty replacement cost? I wasn't sure if it would fall under battery or not.

Mine were replaced under warranty. I was informed of a recall but told "not to worry about it" because they would be fine until they called me in. Apparently it was some sort of "hidden" or selective recall. But I had a failure before they did call me in for the recall work.

In any case, no prior symptoms. I was accelerating on to a freeway and there was this horrible "bang", so loud that I actually thought I had been rear-ended. I heard of another guy who's car would make all kinds of clacking and banging when he tapped the brake to start the car and it would not start.
