Preventing battery damage from road debris

How can you tell? We took delivery 2 weeks ago, I can check ours.

It was originally found because the frunk storage box didn't fit anymore.

Yep, new cars have a shrunk frunk. :crying:

By how much, and in what dimensions? Could this be to accommodate a front drive unit, and allow the S and X to share the same frunk liner?

It's only a couple of inches. There is a picture with dimension posted in the frunk thread. Post 27

The reason for the difference appears to be that the 12V DC converter has moved to a better location.

You can tell because the older mats do not fit the newer Frunk. There is a thread devoteed to that. They lost about 2" in depth at the back of the rear cutout if I recall from the measurements.

Aviation Foreign Object Damage solution... a neodymium magnetic bar.

Magnetic bars. These bars can be suspended beneath tugs and trucks to pick up metallic material. However, the bars should be cleaned regularly to prevent them from dropping the collected debris. Vehicles operating on the airside should be inspected periodically to ensure that they have no loose items that can fall off.
