Ottosteer Plate Holder - Felt or no Felt?

I picked up the Ottosteer front license plate holder since the stick on holder won't stick after the ceramic coating. It came with felt to use on top of the adhesive, but living in Oregon, I imagine it'll be wet and moldy/mossy and become abrasive to the paint. I was thinking about using the little rubber cabinet bumpers instead to limit the contact to the bumper and not soak up water. What do you guys think about this?

Thanks in advance!

Honestly, I think the rubber bumpers will be just fine. My Ottosteer doesn't sit "tight" against the bumper anyway, so the felt is just in case it rocks or moves. The bumpers are a better solution yet.

EXCEPT... that the adhesive tape is already applied to the plate bracket from the factory. So you'll want to remove that.

My stock one won’t stick due to the ceramic on top of the PPF as well. Speaks well for the ceramic. I just installed the Ottosteer with the fabric (for now). As @dmurphy mentioned the plate bracket sits just off the surface. The fabric is synthetic and quite porous so I’ll keep an eye on it when wet.
I thought about cabinet bumpers as well but will wait and see. If I use cabinet bumpers I’ll remove the tape and will probably use the flat bumpers rather than the domed ones however both would work. Have both of them left over from changing all of them in the house this winter. The adhesive on the 3M flat ones is really strong.
I like that the bracket sits slightly off the PPF. Some concern that the bumpers would be in constant contact with the PPF and wear it due to movement.
