    High mileage Model 3's

5700 miles on my LR AWD. I'm getting 268 miles at 90%. I tried running down low and charging to 100% a couple of times and it never went back to the 280 it was at 90% for the first 2000 miles. Not sure if this is normal or excessive. I had to take it in for the steering wheel being canted when...

What product do you use for the deepest wettest looking gloss?

I went with Opticoat Pro Plus ceramic coating on my M3. No coating on my wife's car. Both get washed with ONR and I use Hyper-Seal as my drying aid. That looks great. Then I top it off with Beadmaker. That looks AMAZING. Both of our cars are black and that process makes them both look like the...

    What is this part?

Ahh, that sounds plausible. I bought a little endoscope off Amazon recently that uses your iPhone for the screen. I think I'll try to find a place to fish it into the door and look around for anything that looks like it's missing a part. Thanks for the help!

    What is this part?

Cool link! I didn't find the part in the diagrams, but glad to have the link. The window still works, so not sure if it's from the regulator. Strange. Thanks!

    What is this part?

The other day I heard the sound of something falling inside the driver's door and then I found this little part in the door drain. Any ideas what it is, and if I need to fix it?

    Supercharger Disabled AP?

I think it either happened by, or durning the Supercharging. I say that because there were other strange thing happening as well. It though it's lights were on and they weren't, etc. Anyway, I called Tesla and they did something remotely that fixed it. It seems that all is well with her now. :)...

    Supercharger Disabled AP?

I had a strange thing happen yesterday on a road trip. We hit another Supercharger and my app reported that charging had stopped at around 60%. Strange, but plugged it back in and charged up. Then we jumped back on the interstate and discovered that AP no longer worked. The blue lane lines no...

    Road Rage Caught On Teslacam

Fox isn't a fire extinguisher, it's pepper spray. Really, really, good pepper spray. I've had cans of it for many years, but I was always worried about keeping it in a car during summer. Imagine if it popped in the car. Yikes. BTW, if you carry Fox, you should also carry some Sudecon wipes in...

    Favorite Waterless Wash?

I just went to a Tesla ONR wash event and took a video of it. Huge fan of ONR. I use inside and out. I also just used it to clean all the windows of my house. :)

    Door ding! *#^%^$*%$ !!!!!

The side of my Audi looked like a golf ball from the dozens of times my wife put the Explorer door into it. I had to get off my duff and clean out the garage when I got my M3 so I could park away from her doors of doom. I saw a video of the paintless dent repair on a M3 that looked perfect...

Free Hand Tesla-washing demo in Beaverton event

Thanks to Jason and his team for putting on a great event! I took a (poor) video of it with my phone for a friend who couldn't make it and put it up on YouTube, and thought I'd share the link here in case anyone was interested.

NEMA 14-50 Plug Meltdown / Near Fire

I've put in several of the Leviton's and noticed that the wire tends to mash under the repositioning of the wire, such as bending it to fit inside the junction box, and needs torqued down again. That being said, once it's been mashed down properly again, it is good to go. I've never had any...

Just had a Tesla charger installed. Charges are going at 12 amp at 246 volt?

So, so true. I had to flog them a few times to get everything correct. Still wonder why I didn't just do it myself. They initially had it set to 9 (48 amps) on a 50 amp circuit which was throwing errors/cancelling charging. Now on 9 with a 60 amp circuit and running fine.

    Supercharger - Woodburn, OR

We were there the other day and had to wait in line. This is the busiest SC I've ever visited. If you keep going into Tigard, you have the Washington Square SC, which isn't quite as busy, but are only Urban Chargers and were quite slow.

    Opti-Coat Pro Plus PSA

Just a follow up on my M3's coating and my PSA. I took it back over to Fresh Start and @JasontheBeaver, and his team, reworked my Tesla (washed, polished, detailed, etc) to undo my mistakes with the Big Ruining Sponge and refused to charge me for it. Jason even took the time to fill a bucket of...

    HomeLink Stopped working

I had this happen, too. Rebooted and working again. It seems that it was “stuck” behind the other screens. My morning calendar and backup camera popped up in front of the Homelink area of the screen. After the camera and calendar were closed it seemed like it was still not the focus app. Bug.

Does anyone else think Tesla Energy is trying to destroy the sterling reputation earned by TesaMotor

My car purchase and subsequent interactions have been great. I really wanted Tesla solar, but they didn’t meet my expectations, so I went with a local company. They have earned their poor reputation.

Ottosteer Plate Holder - Felt or no Felt?

I removed the adhesive tape from the plate holder and put on the cabinet bumpers. I used the "dome" shaped ones since there is less surface area that could potentially touch the car. /2 cents

Ottosteer Plate Holder - Felt or no Felt?

I picked up the Ottosteer front license plate holder since the stick on holder won't stick after the ceramic coating. It came with felt to use on top of the adhesive, but living in Oregon, I imagine it'll be wet and moldy/mossy and become abrasive to the paint. I was thinking about using the...

    Opti-Coat Pro Plus PSA

@JasontheBeaver, I see it is no accident that you guys came so highly recommended. Thank you for the post, and I hope that this didn't come across as disparaging to you guys! Opti-Coat Pro Plus PSA

Hey guys, let me start by saying this is likely my fault, but wanted to pass this along so others don’t damage their coatings as well. I picked up a black M3 recently and after agonizing over which coating and detailer to go with, I rolled with Opti-Coat Pro Plus and Fresh Start Detail in...

I also have a black M3 and saw this on YouTube a while back. Thought I'd pass it along. Check out this video. It shows a few of the popular methods: TLDR: Diluted wheel acid took it right off. This was the stuff he was using in the vid: Wheel Acid | Car Brite Not sure where to get the...

Recommendations for Ceramic Coating in Portland

Quick update, I got the M3 back yesterday from being Opti-Coated and it looks pretty dang good. And I'm not sure if it's my imagination, but it seems to look a lot better today. Now it looks like what I was hoping for. Anyway, pretty happy with the results (visually). I'm keeping it hidden away...

Recommendations for Ceramic Coating in Portland

Thanks, guys for the info! I'm now booked for an Opti-Coat Pro Plus appointment with Fresh Start. It's great they have loaner vehicles as well, so I don't have to Uber around for a couple of days. ChrisPDX, how long have you had it? What are you using to clean/detail now you have the coating...

Recommendations for Ceramic Coating in Portland

I've had my black M3 for a few weeks and realize that not coating it is a bad idea. So I'm trying to find a coater in Portland, Oregon. Also trying to decide on Ceramic Pro or Opticoat. Too much data! Need help deciding! Thanks!

    trunk organizers? which is best?

Not sure if this will fit, I haven't tried it, but I picked up a trunk organizer from Harbor Freight for $12. When collapsed it's small and I keep in the sub trunk, then I'll expand it and put it in the trunk for groceries, takeout, etc. I have a bunch of stuff in the sub trunk that keep in...

    Bird Bombs and Black Paint

I noticed a bird left three bombs on my hood today and they were cooking in the sun all afternoon. I hit them with some ONR to remove them and there seems to be a "shadow" of each of them still in my paint. I tried to clay them off and that didn't make any difference. Any ideas on how to remove...

    Calculating Charging Costs...

I'm new to this and was wondering how to calculate charging costs. Looking on my electric bill, we pay: 1,000.000 kWh x $0.06329 (over 1,000.000 kWh x $0.07051). How do I figure out cost per mile/kWh/etc? I also downloaded Stats for Tesla and there is a place in the settings for my energy cost...

What's the Max for the Wall Connector?

Hello, all! First post, so go easy on me. :) I just got my M3 LR AWD and a Wall Connector, so I'm new to all of this. I have an electrician coming out to install the charger and he asked how many amps circuit I want installed. From reading the instructions, it looks like 60 amps is recommended...
