OE Tires

Since we've already determined the 20" tires are likely 265/45R20, the closest match for 22" tires would be 265/35R22. The one Pirelli that shows up at this size is the Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico, which is rated as an All-Season tire and may be a suitable fit.

If they go with the 265/25R22 the performance tires would be the same width as the all-seasons. While that could very well be the case, usually the performance tire option is wider so as to offer greater grip (other than the greater grip by simply being a different rubber compound). As crazy as it sounds, the 295/30R22 is actually closer to the 265/45R20 in terms of circumference and it would provide significantly better traction. It's also REALLY wide which would be a range hit.

I'm excited to be able to quit the speculating, even though it's a lot of fun, and start really learning things about Model X!

For the rear wheels, yes. Both the 20" and 22" wheels are staggered with wider tires on the back wheels. The 20" uses 265/45R20 on the front and 275/45R20 on the back, while the 22" uses 265/35R22 on the front and 285/35R22 on the back.

Well that's going to make rotation a PITA. Also probably limits the available tires pretty significantly.

Here's a copy of the photo of the door plate from Elon's car. Although I remembered reading an article about how Elon's car is testing a special, staggered, tire setup.
