Wiki Model S Delivery Update

With the new upgrades announced for the Model S if you have a order currently in production would you cancel and reorder? I also notice autopilot and the white interior is free while as last week it was a $1,500 option for the white interior.
If my sales advisor told me I couldn’t get the upgraded version and free free white interior I would definitely cancer and reorder. I’d also threaten to take delivery in the 3rd quarter.

Ordered a P100D on 4/23. My account is now in "Prepare for delivery" but I can still edit the design (have twice now). I haven't accepted Tesla's trade-in offer. Is nothing happening until I do? Did they start building Model S ahead of time now or perhaps they didn't even start building my car yet?

Seems very ambiguous.

Tell me about it. I ordered mine on April 3rd and the site says your car is scheduled for production. I haven't heard anything more than that. My delivery specialist said maybe May 9th I can pick up the car but it's all up in the air so far.

Hi All,
New here, but have been reading the threads over the last few weeks. Ordered my “used” 2016 Model S 70 on 4/9 and communication was great to begin with. Car was physically in Vegas and paid for the shipping to the Raleigh SC. Car arrived on 4/18 while I was out of the country and delivery set for 4/27. Got a call on 4/26 that delivery had to be postponed due to open recalls and the MCU not turning on. Almost a month after ordering the car site unseen and no one can give me an idea of an actual delivery date. When I can reach someone they just tell me it’s pemding and they’ll call me. FRUSTRATING

Any advice on how to navigate the delivery department to get a straight answer?..

I was told last Wednesday they had requested the car be transferred from an "offsite location" where the CPOs are stored to the San Diego Delivery Center. Friday I got the MVPA and the Internal Delivery Advisor said he would get me an update yesterday. No word from him yet.
I am appalled by the poor communications around delivery of my Model S. Every email, every text, every phone call, every notice in my account has different information. It is impossible to reach anyone who knows what the next person knows. I am expecting to love my new Tesla, but I am frankly disgusted by the real incompetence of Tesla's communications protocols.

New here as well. I placed my order for a new Model S on 4/27 and have arranged financing with Tech CU. At what point should I expect to hear from my DS? Haven’t received any communication from Tesla other than a confirmation email and an email two days ago about “Next Steps.”

Wish I knew, getting tired of F5. I assume no one who ordered a project raven car has had any update yet. I can still edit my design, you?

Just had the “submit” button show up on the bottom of my order on the “My Tesla Account” page under the new order. (7:45pm EST 5/6/19) Order was RE-placed last Tuesday at the “request” of my Sales Advisor from my closest sales center.

No more editing here. I am trying to change my delivery to a SC in my state rather than out even though it’s closer after reading reviews of how they have screwed up registrations for out of state customers. Been a couple of days. No reply, of course.

Some things remain the same. This is DE-ja-vue ... in 2016 after 2 years of waiting, us early Model X adopters searched the forums, canvased the delivery centers, posted pictures of any vehicles (and their VINs) on the net, and spied high-and-low for a glimpse of any information on the long-awaited X. We even right clicked on our "My Tesla" pages and examined the page's source code to seek any information hidden in the HTML text to garner any VIN, production status and so on.

Of course the DS's took the brunt of our communications displeasure (that job must be similar to the poor person in the Lost Baggage Room of your favorite Airline). it seemed obvious to all the 20,000 early X adopters they should be informed weekly or even daily on when they could order or expect delivery. Even if there was nothing changing, we demanded to KNOW RIGHT NOW! Those on the forums who volunteered any information on their Founders or Signature X's were beaten into seclusion after being overwhelmed with questions, measurements, function descriptions and anything else related to the mysterious SUV. I would guess no one ordering a custom Mercedes, BMW or another premium car expected as much -- the sales dealer said 6 weeks.... and they patiently wait. It seems ordering a Tesla is more like a promise of SEX....anticipation grows with every moment and passing day. That says a lot about Tesla's and it's owners --- a good thing.

I tried a different tact . . . a little patience and realization I wasn't the only person the DS had to deal with. When my DS reached out that my X was finally in pre-production, I simply thanked him for the information, and asked that as significant changes occurred to "PLEASE" let me know. I never called or emailed him. It made his job easier and took my anticipation and blood pressure down a notch. Give is a try.... not much is going to happen of any significance in the first couple of weeks. I suspect the enticement of "free" Ludicrous, and 5000 miles of Super Charging caused a large number of orders.... Tesla released pent-up demand awaiting the rumored refresh.... that was the case with me. Combine the demand with the June 30 deadline on the Tax credit Tesla may have hit the perfect storm. YOU ARE NOT BEING IGNORED Tesla may be a bit overwhelmed.... that also is a good thing. Patience will help your blood pressure, I strongly recommend it.

Some people have a smooth experience buying their Tesla, and some experience challenges. The thing to do is to take it as it goes and try to chill. Many customers report after the purchase is complete that the car makes it all worthwhile. If this approach can't work for you, you might need to make a different choice.

I placed my Model S (third one since '15) on Apr 30th. Aside from the initial email reply thanking me for the order; there has been no status update. My previous orders allowed me a 7 day grace period to make changes after which the order locked in, with status updates showing the car's progress. It's been more than 2 weeks and I'm still given the 'Edit design' option as allowed from the initial order day.
Can anyone comment on their recent order timeline to shed any light on what to expect?
Thanks....

Edit functionality disappears when you fill everything out (or not) and click through "submit". It's unclear if this has any impact on the delivery timeline. No one knows. Delivery advisor is clueless.

@rawn77 is correct. It is not doing it that way with new orders. I order 4-29 and have filled out everything and submitted and it still has "edit design" available. There is somethin strange going on with the orders placed for the new "refreshed" models and the My Tesla page and build / delivery process....….
