Thanks for the heads up! I was charging up there this morning. I have worked with Positive Energy on a few solar install projects - we have a 13kW array at my home and a 7kW array at my gallery on Marcy Street. PM me if you'd like to hook up for a drive!

Awesome! I can't wait to see that beauty driving around town. I just found out there is a charging station next to Whole Foods on Cerrillos. Heads up if you've never seen it before.

S#945 / VIN#936 delivered today at the factory.

The forecast was for rain, but like magic the rain was gone for our entire delivery experience.

Items on the due bill:
- HWPC
- Parcel Shelf
- And, amazingly: 21" wheels. For some reason my car was built with 19" wheels (it's on the contract with 21"). Tesla will swap them out when we go back for our factory tour later.

Capsule review: OMG. I think I even won my wife over (she was skeptical). The downside is I'll need to share now :).

Issues: one minor, over in the other thread.

/Mitch.

Strange about the wheels. I believe goyogi had his car delivered with the wrong wheels this week as well. With TM's exhaustive quality control process, this makes me think there are wheel shortages, and they simply want to deliver as many cars now, and deal with the swapping issue later.

Seeing that the wheels and tires will be used, they can't be put on customer cars and will have to be used for demo cars or some other internal use.

I should ask if I can purchase them at a discount when I get my 21s. I almost didn't get the 21s when I placed my order (I don't like the idea of replacing tires every 12k miles). However, if I was offered a significant break on them, I'd be sure tempted to have the 19s if I find I'm going through 21" tires too fast.

I do plan to do my parallel parking practice with these wheels though....

Well if it makes you feel any better at all, I'm S#69 and still have no idea at all when my car will be arriving. I've had 4 delivery windows come and go, and I haven't heard a thing from a Tesla rep in two weeks. Still completely lost in the dark.

Sure makes you wonder what percentage of the cars pass QC on first build, and how many parts on our particular cars have been swapped out. Hope the screws hold!

I'm sure that George B eschews the day he wrote: "...It means that when all is said and done, there will be about 26 Model S Signature cars that are built earlier than they should have been (most of which have already been delivered), and about 28 will have been built later than they should have been (all of which are now under a microscope everyday to make sure they get through production immediately and have delivery expedited)....".

Did Tesla even call up these 28 owners? We surely haven't heard a peep.

He really needs to come clean before Jalponik beats him to it. The evidence to the contrary is all over the pages in this thread.

Did you get an initial delivery window and a request for your insurance info, ID and delivery preference?

I have a VIN and submitted the above information. My 3rd delivery window opened today, but I don't have a delivery date or my final MVPA paperwork yet.

Yes, my original window was to be 10/16 to 10/30 per an e-mail received Sept 18th. I was on vacation, but sent back the required information on 9-25. Waited for the "I will contact you approximately two weeks in advance to set a specific date and time." call from the delivery specialist, but heard nothing until I received the infamous e-mail note from George B (which came the day after the window opened.) Silly me, I thought that my car must be so close to ready that the 4-6 week delay wouldn't apply to me.

I was being silly and I thought the 4-6 week delay was historical too.

I was told that the new 1-2 week delay established my 2nd delivery window for 10/29-11/12. That matched the 1-2 week news. Some other res holders that shared that window with me in the area got their cars closer to those dates. My window slipped the 3rd time and I was informed that my final window is 11/16-11/30. No hard dates yet. No idea what stage the car is at now. It has been in hand-off mode for a bit I think.

Uhh... My (delayed 2x) window opened yesterday.... no email since 11/13 saying min too is "being inspected post production". I have this nightmare that there are a hundred "finished" cars sitting there missing door handles, display screens, wheels, whatever. Peak of the nightmare is when somebody comes to my car and takes another part!

Also seems to me the big push for last week and next week is to deliver as many cars as possible at the Hawthorne event the day before Thanksgiving. Since I'm a WA delivery, I sure hope that doesn't mean more parts stolen from my car

Well, you have to give Tesla credit for trying their best to maintain a high level of QC. I'd be even more frustrated if I had the car and it was sitting down in the service shop, or stuck in a parking lot, imobile. So far Tesla's biggest failing may be their somewhat sub-par communication skills and lack of transparency. Ah, the joys of being beholden to stockholders. But, don't make promises about trying to stick to the sequence order when that is not possible -- and when the game plan changes, have the courage to admit the obvious and publish a revised plan. For example, at this point they should just give up on the delivery windows, advance notifications of VIV #'s etc and wait to contact the owner until such time that the car is ready to ship.

@PilotSteve Silence here too brother. I was told that mine was wrapping up production on the 8th. That's the last word. I've been having trouble committing to Thanksgiving plans as I sit on the check. It would help to know if it made it onto a truck.

Just received a call from our Colorado delivery specialist that my S#466 is "on" the road and currently somewhere in the Rockies. Never had a reassigned delivery window; perhaps Tesla is giving up on that idea and just delivering when able. IMHO, the fewer the broken promises, the better. Just need to get Jkam's #69 out the door.....

Seems to me, that if a couple people are significantly delayed (while TM is challenged getting parts, fixing alignment, or other pesky operational issues), that it might be easier to pull another unit from back of the line and reassign the VINs. VIN order be damned. Just sayin.

I just got word that VIN 909 is on the road to Seattle. Yep, they are just cranking them out as fast as they can and borrowing delivery specialists from other areas to help. The delivery team is slammed and they just don't have time to tend to correspondence. I hope they can get more help soon. Now we just have to hope all goes well with the final inspection, prep and detailing.

I hope all the US Signatures have gotten some sort of notice that their car is at least in production or on its way home by now.

Oh, how I wish that my car was on that truck. As of Thursday, my car was still in inspection and I haven't received any update since.

Congratulations, tezco. Jkam is going to win the dubious honor of being the most delayed delivery of a Sig. :scared:

I think all US Sigs are in production now, but there are still supplier issues (I know that CF trim is at least one that continues to cause delays), so it still may take a little while to finish all of the Sigs and get them into people's hands. Mid-December would be a reasonable guess at this point.
