Maybe this is old news but I just saw this article suggesting a Key Fob is in the works:
Tesla is working on a new key fob – potentially for keyless Model 3

The Model S and Model X are using BLE fobs. So it should work the same.Do we know if this will work on all Model 3s or will it require some new hardware on the car (eg RF receiver)?
I wonder what the price will be. Definitely going to get one .
Just saw Model 3 Owners Club tweeted this photo with confirmation that the Model 3 will be getting a Keyfob
But a fob would be really handy for those times when I'm walking up to the car with groceries/anything else. It's annoying to have to pull out my phone, look at it, make several taps to get the trunk to open.
ErrWhen my 3 is delivered next week, I’ll have an S and a 3. Wonder if the key fob could work with both cars. that would be ideal.
I am going to guess $200 per fob.
There's no way it will cost $200, it will cost at least double that. BMW/Merc/Audi all charge around $400-$500 for a replacement keyfob.
