I agree the LATCH points are tough to get to. My old 3 series had nice molded plastic ports in the seats that made them easier to engage. The Tesla’s design is prob simpler/cheaper. For how rarely I actually have to interact with them, I’m ok with the tradeoff.

I’ve also managed to get curb rash from the front of my driveway, where the concrete meets the asphalt. The 19” wheels with OEM tires are a rash magnet. I did go up to 245s recently in hopes for a little cushion.

Former 350z and Cobb 135i owner here. The AWD 3 with acceleration boost is so much better in every way that matters. If anything, I miss rotating the Nissan with the throttle and the sound of the BMW in a tunnel.

Have you ever/would you ever opt for a 335i over a 328i? A hellcat over an srt? Splurged on the v6 accord? Same decision, but cheaper and with no fuel efficiency impact.

It is included while under warranty. They charged me around $30 to patch the tire the first time, though.

Theft aside, I think of it as a nearly free way of motivating the owner (me) to get their ass back to the service center in a timely manner. A quick turnaround means a smaller loaner inventory.

On a side note, shout out to Decatur, GA service center for letting me take my wheel back and borrow the loaner wheel for a few extra days so I could go to a local tire shop and replace all four tires.

I got my Apple SD card adaptor today. It works flawlessly with the Files and Cam Viewer apps. So with the Vikasi adaptor remaining plugged into the car, the only wasted purchase was the Apple USB Camera adaptor.

in hindsight, I see that piggybacking the two adaptors seems foolish, but the video posted earlier in this thread (Sentry-Why no MicroSD w/ USB adapter AND Lightning (iPhone connector)?) shows this specific adaptor working in the Files app when connected through the Apple camera adaptor.

No, it does not show up at all in the Files app. I just ordered the Apple lightning to SD adaptor, and plan to pop the MicroSD card out of the vikasi and into a full-size SD adaptor when I want to view the files on my phone. Seems to me as good as any non-wireless solution.

After more fiddling - the vikasi works equally well with the iUSB app with or without the Apple adaptor. So it’s nice to be eliminate a piece, but I would really prefer the Files integration to work.

So it had me download the iUSB third party app, which does let me view the files, but not in the files app or Cam Viewer app. I wonder what is different for me.

I’m confused. Are they redistributing Tesla’s official manual, or did they create this? If it’s the former, then they are just being opportunistic and deserve nothing. If the latter, my request is totally inappropriate and their price is reasonable.

There’s no reason the Y wouldn’t be adequate as your sole vehicle, so don’t pay to insure two if you don’t have to.

Mine is Suntek CIR. 20% sides, 30% back. I can’t tell the difference between it and the Llumar CTX I had on my past few cars. I’ve heard that Suntek is “b-tier” tint, but I also think people can sometimes be overly picky around here.
